1987

Frost formed IVAX Inc. in 1987 as a holding company.

1989

Even without such blockbuster drugs, IVAX should be profitable in 1989 based on some other more reliable products, Lilly writes.

1990

1990: North Healthcare Ltd. is acquired.

In May 1997, IVAX announced plans to name Strauss CEO at its upcoming annual meeting.

1999

In 1999, sales climbed to $656.4 million.

2000

Sales climbed to $793 million in 2000, and that year the company resumed its acquisition strategy with the purchases of Venezuelan firm Laboratorios Elmor S.A. and Wakefield Pharmaceuticals.

2001

2001: Frost is given the National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
