JOB SUMMARY

Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
Perform complex calculations and planning for special or large jobs, including daily scope of work.

Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of pipe installations, and plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.

Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets using hand and power tools.

Lead and train small crews of Apprentices and Helpers as required or assigned.

Qualifications:
Must have valid Journeyman License
Kentucky Journeyman License is a plus.
OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
Have a general understanding of hand tools (tape measure, pipe wrenches, hammers, screw drivers, etc.).
Be able and willing to handle power tools in a safe manner.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner at all levels inside and outside the company.
Must have the ability to work with, train, and lead Apprentices and Helper level staff members.
Operate in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements (wear proper PPE, keep worksite organized, safe, and free of hazards).

What You'll Contribute
In this role, you can expect to:
Serve as the subject matter expert at your branch for all plumbing-related operations
Balance your schedule with both office (~30%) and field work (~70%)
Review all upcoming jobs with the Installation Manager and obtain applicable permits
Schedule rough-in inspections and help facilitate pre-installation and on-site final inspections
Respond to service calls and assist Installers with plumbing-related questions over the phone or via site visits
Act as primary back up to the Installation Manager and assist with scheduling installations, completing pre-install inspections, and ordering products as needed

Experience as a pipefitter in the HVAC industry

Knowledge of pipefitting principles and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
Able to lift 50 pounds; frequently lift and carry 25 pounds; work on ladders, staging or other related equipment; and work in confined spaces.
Must use proper LO/TO procedures and wear PPE at all times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS
Some job duties are performed within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
When the employee is at a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment is often loud.
Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential homes, including pipes, drains, water heaters, and fixtures
Install new plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets, and other plumbing appliances as needed
Respond to service calls in a timely manner and communicate effectively with clients about plumbing issues and repair options
Perform routine maintenance checks on plumbing systems to identify and fix minor issues before they become major problems
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards
Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job
Provide excellent customer service by explaining plumbing issues and offering repair solutions that meet the customer's needs
Operate plumbing tools and equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Perform emergency plumbing services, including after-hours calls when required
Keep up-to-date with the latest plumbing technology and techniques through continued education
Manage and measure the work of an apprentice on the job. Assist with additional training as necessary
Maintain an organized truck, adequate truck stock, and tools
