The Vice President of Actuary is a senior executive responsible for overseeing all actuarial functions within the organization, including pricing, reserving, risk management, and financial reporting. This role ensures the integrity of actuarial models, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment of actuarial strategy with the company's overall financial and growth objectives. This role serves as a key advisor to executive leadership, providing insight and guidance on the financial implications of business decisions and long-term strategic planning. Responsibilities Actuarial Leadership & Management Oversee all actuarial departments and supervise actuarial teams to ensure efficient and timely execution of daily, monthly, and annual deliverables. Lead, mentor, and develop actuarial staff, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and accountability. Establish and maintain best practices for actuarial operations and reporting processes. Risk Management Identify, evaluate, and manage financial risk exposures related to accidents, illnesses, liabilities, and market fluctuations. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategies for maintaining profitability and capital adequacy under various risk scenarios. Strategic Leadership Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to corporate strategy and long-term financial planning. Pricing and Product Development Develop and validate pricing models for insurance products to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Monitor portfolio performance and adjust assumptions or models as needed to meet financial targets. Regulatory Compliance and Governance Ensure all actuarial methodologies, models, and assumptions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Maintain transparency and integrity in actuarial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators. Oversee the preparation and submission of actuarial statements and certifications required by regulatory agencies. Financial Reporting and Analysis Oversee actuarial input into financial statements and ensure the accuracy of reserves, loss ratios, and related projections. Collaborate with finance, underwriting, and investment departments to provide comprehensive financial analysis. Support executive and board-level reporting with data-driven insights into financial performance and risk exposure. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related analytical discipline; Master's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive actuarial experience in a Fortune 100 company or equivalent large-scale enterprise. Professional Designations: Minimum U.S. actuarial qualifications such as Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) or equivalent designation (FSA, MAAA). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Select proper product from designated warehouse area (bins/shelves/racks). * Build pallets proactively to prevent product damage. * Handle and package product carefully and in a sanitary manner. * At the Supervisor's discretion, stack product for loading with care for potential damage control. * Shrink wrap finished pallets for final loading. * Complete pick documentation, productivity worksheets and identify product selected for individual customers. * Maintain proper housekeeping standards for all work areas. * Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times. * Reports any product damage or loss to supervisor. * Keeps equipment and all areas safe, clean and organizes through proper housekeeping. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED preferred. * 3+ years of forklift experience in a warehouse setting. * Prior warehousing experience in a food environment preferred. * Able to read and write legibly; able to follow orders; able to work with little direct supervision. * Ability to operate powered pallet jacks, hi-lo, reach trucks, hand pumping jacks, forklift, box cutter and RF Scanner. * Ability to work on your feet for most of the day, repetitive bending, lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving 100 lbs. * Able to work in cold warehouse environment (36°F - 38°F). * Must be open to working 6 days per week (8:30PM-5AM).
