How will you make an impact?
You will be responsible for development of pioneering methods and protocols for cryo FIB milling with plasma FIB (pFIB) within the electron Cryo-Electron Tomography (Cryo-ET) and Volume EM workflows, using our groundbreaking Arctis and Hydra Bio cryo-plasma-FIBs. You will coordinate applications development for our cryo-FIB projects with our collaborators in a world-class cryo-imaging lab. Your role will involve cryo FIB milling to prepare cellular lamella and optimizing methods for sample preparation, with the ultimate goal of performing cryo-Electron Tomography on our Krios cryo-Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) instruments. Additionally, you will develop methods and workflows for volume imaging of high pressure frozen cellular and tissue samples using cryo Auto Slice & View and related technologies on the pFIB dual beam systems. You will build a network within the scientific community through collaborations with new and leading customers and help shape the future of cryo EM.
Deliverables and responsibilities:
Develop and evaluate FIB milling and volume imaging strategies with plasma FIB on cells and tissues. Work with collaborators for training users (on site and remotely) and develop and implement proof of concept experiments with challenging samples. Your contributions will support directly the customer's scientific endeavor as well as feed directly into new product development at Thermo Fisher.

This position is ideal for an expert in focused ion beam (FIB) electron microscopy, ideally with a familiarity in both cryo-FIB milling and TEM sample preparation. Strong technical understanding of FIB theory and technology as well as experience with Plasma FIB instrumentation is a crucial requirement. A background or experience with biological questions and samples is desirable but not a requirement for the role.

An advanced degree (e.g .PhD, MSc) in the fields of Physics, Biophysics and related or equivalent fields.
Demonstrated in-depth experience in TEM sample preparation with plasma FIB milling as well as a deep understanding of FIB technology. Knowledge of soft matter samples, with cryogenic conditions and biological specimen is a plus.

Performance Management:
* Establish clear measurable goals and objectives to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
* Provide ongoing feedback to Functional Managers on team member's contribution to the Workcell.
* Express pride in team and encourage members of the Workcell to feel good about their accomplishments.
* Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and in the achievement of the customer and Workcell goals.
* Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
* Ensure recognition and rewards are recommended fairly and consistently in the Workcell to Function Managers.
Communication:
* Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the workcell.
* Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
* Ask questions; encourage input from Workcell team.
* Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.
* Act as a communication link between the Business Unit and Operations Unit.
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
* Know and understand the campus strategic directions.
* Define, develop and implement a customer/workcell strategy that contributes to the campus strategic directions.
* Develop an understanding of the Functional business strategies as they pertain to the workcell/customer.
* Provide regular updates to the Function Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Assistant Operations Manager on the execution of the strategy.
* Identify resource requirements that meet the needs of the workcell and the customer/product (i.e. machines, lines, visuals).
* Communicate resource requirements to Function Managers.
Cost Management:
* Develop the monthly business unit forecast with the Business Unit Manager.
* Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
* Utilize tools to monitor department cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
* Provide feedback to Business Unit Manager and Assistant Operations Manager on costs and cost trends.
Forecast Development and Accuracy:
* Prepare timely forecasts for the workcell.
* Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
* Complete variance of actual results versus the forecast on time and communicate results to Business Unit Manger, Assistant Operations Manager, Operations Manager and Workcell Team.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
* Train the workcell teams on the validity of management by metrics and with the team monitor all workcell metrics.
* Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
* Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
* Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes.
* Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree preferred; and five years experience, one year in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

How will you make an impact?
Project Manager will lead and support assigned projects, programs and initiatives of low to medium complexity applying project management expertise to support the company and group's strategy. SUMMARY
The Test Engineering Technician I supports manufacturing test operations by executing defined electrical and functional tests under direct supervision. This role assists Test Engineers and Manufacturing Test personnel with test setup, execution, data collection, and equipment handling while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Independently perform electrical and functional testing including:
480VAC and 120VAC electrical power and functional testing
24VDC control systems and interlock validation
Hipot / dielectric withstand testing
Pressure testing, leak detection, pre-air, and vacuum testing
Safety interlocks and emergency stop validation
· Set up, configure, and verify test stations for production.
· Assist with troubleshooting test failures and equipment issues.
· Support Test Engineers with test validation and process improvements.
· Verify equipment calibration and readiness.
· Train and support Test Engineering Technician I personnel.
· Maintain accurate test documentation and logs.
· Lead creation, review, and modification of test work instructions for complex or safety-critical test processes.
· Ensure work instructions fully capture electrical safety, pressure safety, interlocks, and risk controls.
· Validate work instructions through test execution, peer review, and production trials.
· Serve as a technical reviewer and approve (as delegated) for work instruction changes.
· Mentor Technician I and II personnel on proper use and continuous improvement of work instructions.
· Partner with Test Engineers to ensure documentation aligns with test intent and compliance requirements.
· Support training of operators using updated work instructions.
· Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and Jabil standards
