1989

In 1989, Jackson Mayor Dale Danks was similarly criticized for enrolling his daughter in Jackson Prep.

1992

1992 • Rob Gustafson joins Prep as its third Headmaster. • Prep launches the “Setting the Standard for Tomorrow” Capital Campaign, ultimately securing more than $3 million for campus additions and renovations.

1995

In a 1995 article in the Clarion Ledger, former headmaster Jesse Howell said that "There was resistance from both sides" to school integration.

1997

1997 • Jim Roberts and Susan Lindsay serve as Co-Headmasters after Rob Gustafson’s tenure.

1998

1998 • Bill McGee joins Prep as Headmaster and launches the Vision and Values long-range planning. • Prep dedicates the McRae Center that houses the administrative offices, Hederman Media Center, McCravey Art Gallery, and Howell Library.

1999

In 1999, Madison county school board member Lee Miller acknowledged that his decision to enroll his children in Jackson Prep may have come across as "nebulous", but insisted the decision was not motivated by racial bias.

2000

2000 • Prep equips teachers with pagers and laptops and becomes the first school in Mississippi to install a wireless internet network.

2004

2004 • Susan Lindsay continues her service to Prep by beginning her new role as Head of School.

2005

2005 • Prep celebrates the dedication of the Guyton Science Building.

2014

As of 2014, Jackson Prep's student body remained over 97 percent white.
