Someone who can support our Jacobs Architecture Subject Matter Experts in developing feasibility studies, concept designs, and masterplans. A person who has excellent CAD / BIM skills including being able to prepare 3D visualization images to facilitate client decision making. What We're Looking For A minimum of 12+ years' of professional experience in architectural design. A minimum of 7 years of experience in designing large-scale multifamily projects. Five or more years of experience managing a project team. A minimum of 7 years' of professional experience using Revit. Bachelor or master's degree of Architecture or related field Licensed architect in one of the 50 states. The company will provide financial support for obtaining reciprocity in Washington. Strong proficiency in relevant architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, or similar tools. In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards related to multifamily design. Demonstrated ability to balance design aesthetics with technical functionality and constructability. Understanding of sustainable design principles and a commitment to creating environmentally responsible projects. Your Role Operational Tasks: Discuss building and zoning code issues with project team that involve “grey” areas in the code. This requires knowledge of the code and the ability to make a case for your position based on the intent of the code language where ambiguity lurks. The Project Architect IV should exhibit strong creative capabilities. Bringing new ideas, thoughts, and details to the team from previous experience and current research. Develop and participate in presentations to design team, including but not limited to the Architect Project Manager, Project Designers, other Architects, Design and Technical Director, and Director of Architecture. Produce Construction Documents of high-quality using Revit/BIM systems. Explore additional capabilities of the system, identifying areas applicable to our current work. Control access to original drawings and architectural files to assure easy access by authorized personnel Construction drawings shall be based on approved site plan, unit floor plans, building floor plans in a timely manner and in accordance with project schedules and applicable codes. Read and analyze all local and state zoning codes. Produce a summary memo on findings for necessary supervisors, and team members, as well as ownership when needed. Coordinate preliminary site plans with a senior architect from criteria provided by the Owner that accounts for topography, survey and legal description, and local jurisdiction development standards. Review of grading and drainage plans for compliance with ACG Design established requirements and procedures. Attend and participate in weekly RFI and ACG Design/AHB Coordination Meetings. Attend neighborhood and other public meetings and hearings when architectural support is required. Oversee the entire lifecycle of the assigned project(s). This position may be required to participate on multiple project teams. Demonstrate a high level of efficiency and ability to work with minimal oversight. Administrative Support: Act as a lead architect for all assigned projects while developing understanding ACG's standards and procedures. Assist in performing site observations during construction. Prepare reports documenting conformance with contract documents, and perform other related tasks associated with the construction process in associate with architect of record. Produce and review scopes of work and request for proposals for consultants. Provide weekly reports to Supervisor. Coordinate and respond to all AHBI issues, including but not limited to RFI's, submittals and change orders in a timely manner. Work closely with Director-level employees and Vice President of Design to continuously review and establish and update standards for design. Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with outside consultants including but not limited to, local architects, building departments, fire department, engineers, surveyors as directed by supervisor. Serve as ACG Design contact with outside consultants as directed by supervisor. Quality Assurance: Monitor work performed by outside consultants to assure timely completion of all work performed. Comply with all ADA requirements. Work alongside Technical Director and/or senior-level architects to ensure compliance. Assist in performing quality control plan reviews. Review all consultants' drawings for accuracy prior to distribution to other companies and/or submission to permitting or approval authorities. Follow all ACG Design policies and procedures. Help ACG establish new standards and best practices for design and constructability. Other: Promote teamwork with co-workers as well as outside consultants and entities to achieve timely completion of all work in accordance with project schedules. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Be punctual, adjusting schedules to meet required timelines. Keep the schedule current, reviewing on a weekly basis and coordinating priorities to assure timely completion of all items on the department schedule as well as emergency needs.
