We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our Columbus, OH Water team to support the delivery of multiple regional water/wastewater and utility construction projects. As Construction Manager, you will manage the delivery of the construction phase of assigned water/wastewater and/or utility projects on behalf of Jacobs clients; conduct constructability reviews for ongoing designs; lead a team of construction management staff on assigned projects; or serve as the Owner's Representative for assigned heavy civil water and wastewater construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be reviewing and enforcing construction contract documents, schedules, and budgets on behalf of the Owner and to facilitate the coordination of construction activities with all project stakeholders. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for the client, chair necessary pre-construction, progress, and coordination meetings, and submit progress reports to the client on an as needed basis.

* Assist with development of Construction Management Procedures Manuals in close coordination with the Jacobs Project Manager and the Owner to establish consistent practices across the entire program.

* Identify resource shortfalls on assigned projects, bring them to the Project Manager's attention, and contribute to developing solutions to address client needs and successfully deliver projects.

* Review and file construction inspection team's daily reports.
* Implement document control workflow and record keeping practices required to maintain project schedule/progress.
* Review third party construction progress reports on behalf of the client to confirm accuracy and proactively identify schedule risks and activities that require advanced coordination or additional resources to support and maintain construction progress.
* Oversee maintenance of CM redline set of drawings reflecting all field changes to date.
* Administer recurring construction progress meetings and coordination meetings on an as needed basis.
* Draft and submit construction progress reports for the client as requested.
* Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering and 7+ years of experience delivering water and wastewater, utility, and/or civil construction projects.
* Proficiency in the use of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer software required to generate construction progress reports.
* Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or a Certified Construction Manager (CCM).

This is a full-time position on site that will be required to report to designated field offices Monday through Friday with additional days as required. The position will require Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is strongly preferred.
Must have minimum of eight (8) years of construction, and real estate development experience with minimum of four (4) years in data center, mission critical projects and management positions.
Demonstrated experience managing the construction of substations, switching centers, and other high-voltage electrical infrastructure for data centers or similar mission-critical facilities.
Must be knowledgeable in all phases of building and land design and construction including:
Understanding of architectural & engineering processes and prerequisites for both
Understanding the governmental process and all steps necessary for compliance
Reviewing soils reports, phase I reports and cost studies
Understanding of commissioning and testing processes related to Mission-Critical related equipment and projects
Preparing project costs estimates and municipal fee estimates

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible to lead one or more construction projects and for the management of the overall planning, scheduling, code compliance, cost tracking, safety, and completion of these projects. The Superintendent is responsible for directing and mentoring subcontractors and other on-site field staff. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and team building skills.
WORK HOURS:
Weekdays 7 am to 5 pm; Saturdays 7 am- 1pm, as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assure the required permits and approvals from jurisdictional agencies are secured, posted, and renewed as required prior to starting work.
Develop, update, modify (as required) and maintain the project schedule including a master schedule, 60-day look ahead schedules for their assigned trades, and two-week look ahead schedules for their assigned trades.
Understand and be familiar with the date by which all materials must arrive on the job and convey that information to the project management team for preparation of the contract items lists and shop drawing schedules.
Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors to complete each project on time.
Communicate with and support each subcontractor to execute their job duties effectively and efficiently.
Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project.
Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location.
Prepare the daily construction reports in a thorough and timely manner and maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site.
Assure daily job progress photographs are taken in ample quantity to accurately depict the progress of the work.
Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects
Understand and ensure risk controls are properly established and maintained.
Understand and uphold the site safety plan.
Understand and uphold the site logistics plan.
Assure the implementation and continuous maintenance of corporate safety program requirements in all of the day-to-day operations on the project.
Prepare and attend the weekly subcontractor meetings. Assist in maintaining the minutes of these meetings, and ensure they are recorded and distributed.
Prepare and manage weekly safety meetings, regular toolbox talks, and safety pre task meetings as required.
Attend weekly meetings with the project team for purposes of updates on the status of the field work and communication of any issues requiring the input or action of others on the project team, and for notification to the project team of issues that may be of importance or interest to them.
Establish and maintain a system of document control to assure work is being installed in accordance with the latest design documentation and approved shop drawings.
Communicate any issues requiring additional information from designers and consultants in a timely fashion to the project manager for issuance of RFI's.
Assist in preparation of the monthly status report to be submitted to the lender.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires Engineering, Construction Management or related Bachelor's degree, OR equivalent years of related experience.
Requires 10+ years of experience in Stick-frame Multi-Family Residential Construction. Previous Sitework and Structured Garage Construction experience is preferred.
Requires working knowledge of various construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings and other documents required.
Requires superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential both within the internal project team and externally with subcontractors, labor force, etc.
Requires the ability to work with and have knowledge of the shop drawing submittal process.
Requires the ability to read and comprehend building plans and specifications and able to comprehend and recognize safety standards and issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle report
High-volume estimation experience
General contractor or real estate investment background
Residential maintenance and renovation experience
Ability to read and produce reports using Excel and Yardi

Responsibilities:
Train, mentor, and lead a team of office engineers, project engineers, and project managers.
Supervise Project Managers in all phases of their responsibilities.
Oversee the establishment of project milestone dates, including events prior to the bid date.
Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within the scope and budget.
Establish & maintain relationships with third parties, vendors, and our trade partners.
Review daily job reports, manage change orders and RFI process, prepare and submit pay apps, etc.
Communicate regularly with owners, architects, and our trade partners.
Go above and beyond to help assist your team in any way needed.
Resolve issues and disputes in a timely and diplomatic manner.
Monitor project cost.
Review weekly labor cost analysis.
Prepare quarterly cost projections.
Ensure that all items of cost are posted to the correct code.
Resolve discrepancies between committed and actual costs.
Project costs through end of year.
Monitor monthly equipment charges to project in accordance with contract.
Review subcontracts and purchase orders for any revisions or amendments by the subcontractor or vendor.
Provide regular updates to Division Vice President and President.
Participate in interviews and presentations as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Have at least ten (10) years' experience in commercial construction project management.
Have at least three (3) years of experience as a senior-level Project Manager in commercial / industrial construction projects ranging from $30M - $100M and higher.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have advanced knowledge of Project Management software.
Be able to read construction drawings & blueprints accurately.
Have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Have highly developed organizational and time management abilities.
Have strong financial skills to develop, track, and analyze project budgets.
Be willing to learn and expand your knowledge continuously.
Be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Investigates all incidents to determine root cause and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends for the region, propose and recommend remedial action. Facilitate all incidents and near-misses to be investigated, train employees on how to prepare report of findings, including recommendations to prevent recurrence and implement approved course of action.
Maintain a working knowledge of HSE-related regulatory requirements.
Support education for assigned locations in alignment with incident free culture and assume personal responsibility for safe work practices in all operations.
Conduct regulatory health, safety, and environmental awareness compliance meetings and training for staff at assigned locations.
Support local management by working with the Legal Department, 3rd Party and Safety Leaders to mitigate OSHA citations and assist in general liability claims litigation.
Review and complete detailed written reports on safety and environmental audits as required.
Communicate and train staff on the Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for assigned locations.
Facilitates and/or serves as an active participant within local union/port authority meetings (Joint Safety Committee and Accident Review Boards, etc.) to continually promote and strengthen the safety culture improvement.
Perform daily interaction with managers, staff, and auditors. Periodic interaction with local emergency response groups and regulatory agencies.
Oversee the management of the Regional Safety Incentive program.
Performs other duties as assigned that are in line with corporate directives.
