Job Description
The Sr. Staff / Cost Accountant is responsible for the overall accuracy of inventory valuation and Cost of Goods Sold within their area of responsibility. As a key member of the Supply Chain Finance team, this position will serve as a Business Finance Partner to Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering and Product Creation. In addition to Supply Chain Partnerships, this position will also interface with Corporate Accounting to ensure financial and business processes and controls are performing as designed.
This position requires employees to be on-site at our Red Wing, MN facility Monday through Thursday and will be remote on Fridays.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead standard cost activities to support the Annual Cost Roll, New Product Costing and Engineering Change Request (ECR) changes. Prepare accurate product costs based on Bill of material (BOM) structure as needed.
Partner with Product Creation and Manufacturing (if applicable) to streamline and improve the costing process, including RFP Development, to ensure timely completion.
Perform complex reconciliations, research and root cause analysis of transaction differences and errors in a timely manner through data mining, detail analysis and research. Prepare and process correcting journal entries to ensure all inventory / financial transactions are properly recorded.
Perform daily and month end close activities including variance analysis and financial review. Prepare timely, complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP.
Support the Month-end close timelines and communicate issues. Report actual results and communicate key business metrics while providing insightful variance analysis to various Stakeholders.
Lead the verification and reconciliation analysis related to annual Physical Inventories.
Actively participate on Lean Project Teams; review process flows and present collaborative improvement recommendations while also developing tracking mechanisms to ensure Accountability.
Assist with the annual financial audit, ensuring audit support schedules are prepared and deliverables are provided timely.
Partner with Manufacturing leaders to drive productivity while assisting, and in some cases leading, with the tracking and analysis of specific Productivity Metrics across several MFG Facilities (ex. Efficiency).
Participate and/or lead cross-functionally within manufacturing, distribution, retail and other finance departments on projects to streamline processes and improve internal controls and compliance. Partner to understand business initiatives and their respective impact to accounting and controls.

As a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Intern, you will explore how community giving, volunteering, and donation programs can become a visible, authentic part of the brand experience for consumers - whether they shop in a company-owned store, dealer-owned store, or online. You will audit current touchpoints, benchmark other brands, and research strategies to enhance community engagement initiatives. By understanding what motivates stores and identifying ways to make community impact simple, relevant, and rewarding, you will help strengthen the connection between our brand purpose and consumer experience.
As a CSR Intern, you will:
Identify where and how Red Wing's community impact currently appears (stores, trucks, digital, social, packaging, etc.)
Conduct brief interviews with store associates, marketing, and e-commerce staff to understand current messaging and opportunities
Research how other purpose-driven brands showcase their social impact to customers
Create concepts or prototypes for how Red Wing could integrate community impact more visibly into customer experiences
Produce and present a summary of findings and recommendations to CSR and Marketing/Brand teams
Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business, public relations, or corporate social responsibility
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in social impact, sustainability, and brand storytelling

As an Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the engineering discipline by contributing to a variety of impactful projects. This role offers exposure to real-world engineering challenges, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to develop technical and problem-solving skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
As an Engineering Intern, you will:
Use CAD software to update plant layouts that reflect recent and ongoing facility changes.
Work with 3D scanning technology and comparative analysis tools to audit and document geometrical designs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
Participate in a week-long Continuous Improvement event focused on enhancing production processes related to safety, quality, productivity, and 5S.
Collaborate with another engineer to execute a smaller-scale capital equipment project, which includes defining the scope of work, interacting with vendors, preparing quotes and CER documentation, implementing the project, and resolving outstanding issues.
