POSITION: Custodian - Second Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide a clean, safe, and comfortable learning environment for all students and staff working collaboratively with a facilities crew.
QUALIFICATIONS:
School custodian or related field experience preferred
Ability to read basic operating instructions
Capable of lifting and moving objects 75 lbs or more
Must be able to stand/walk for periods of time 2-7.5 hours
REPORTS TO: Facilities/Maintenance Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Dust, sweep, mop, and polish as necessary to maintain a clean floor
Clean bathrooms
Wash windows and clean sills as needed
Scrub, strip, or refinish floors as scheduled
Set up for scheduled meetings, games, dances or other events as requested
Report damage to building, faulty equipment, lack of sufficient supplies to Maintenance supervisor
Replace light bulbs as needed
Load and unload supplies and equipment as directed
Assist with deliveries
Keep exterior walkways and entrances to buildings clear of debris during all seasons to maintain a safe entrance and exit from the building
Assist on maintenance work, minor report work, grounds work as directed by Facility Director
Know location and proper care and use of all fire equipment
Responsible for the security of classrooms and buildings
Work on major maintenance during summer months as assigned
Clean and store all tools, supplies, and equipment after each use
Complete essential exterior winter tasks like shoveling walkways, clearing snow from building entrances, applying ice melt, and potentially operating light equipment (snowblowers), ensuring safe, accessible pathways during winter, often requiring on-call availability and physical stamina for cold weather, demanding attention to safety and quick response to weather changes.
Apply and adhere to proper safety techniques to maintain a safe working environment
Ability to interpret written procedures, policies, and safety guidelines
Ability to follow detailed work instructions accurately and independently
Relieve or assist on other jobs or shifts as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
Abides by the school rules and regulations as defined by school board policy, and state and federal laws related to education and the rights of individuals

The Carpentry Team Member is responsible for a variety of responsibilities to support carpentry projects. This role involves assisting with the installation of various carpentry features, while ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery:
Support your Team Leader with completing carpentry services, including decks, stairs, pavilions, pergolas, docks, porches, siding, roofing, trim, and other tasks as needed.
Work as part of a team under the direction of the team leader and Carpentry Manager.
Communicate effectively with team members and report progress on tasks.
Equipment & Tool Management:
Ensure all carpentry equipment is maintained, stored, and used safely and effectively.
Report any equipment malfunctions or repairs that need to be made to the Team Leader
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the task.
Seasonal Snow Removal:
Assist with snow removal duties (shoveling, plowing, salt/sand application) during the winter months as necessary.
Requirements:
Effective verbal communication.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
Valid drivers license.
DOT Medical Certification.
Availability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Strong time management skills.
Knowledge with construction machines/equipment, tools, and materials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM (Weekends and extended hours as needed)

11. Maintains security by monitoring and limiting access to buildings in accordance with established policies and procedures.
12. Maintains inventory of supplies and requisitions replacements and new supplies as needed.
13. Operates and maintains building/facility illumination and safety equipment.
14. Maintains confidentiality with regards to activities/situations and individuals encountered while completing work assignments (i.e. memoranda, interviews, evidence, etc.).
15. Assists with other public works operations and projects including responding to and mitigating various man-made and natural emergencies and performing general maintenance of facilities.
16. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, other departments and agencies, and the general public.
17. Maintains familiarity with and executes safe work procedures associated with assigned work.
18. Performs other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Some knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial and grounds maintenance work. Some knowledge of general building repair and facility maintenance practices. Ability to follow written and oral instruction. Physical ability and stamina to perform required work. Ability to complete required forms and maintain accurate records. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the general public.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator license.
