In order to accomplish the custodial/janitorial assignments, you must on a regular and recurring basis operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, or utility vehicles) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites located at or near Mount Rushmore. Working Conditions: Approximately 50% of the work is indoor areas, which normally have adequate, heat, light, and ventilation. The remaining work is outdoor in nature, working along visitor use areas and trails in various weather conditions ranging from hot temperatures to below freezing conditions. The incumbent is exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc. Care is required to avoid serious injures when working on ladders and scaffolds. PM/Custodial Workers do work in artificial and natural light when outdoors.
