Responsibilities: The office cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment for employees, visitors and clients. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and complete all duties within the allotted time frame. Perform cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming of floors and wiping down walls and woodwork. Monitor stock and replenish essential supplies such as toilet paper, garbage bags, hand soap and paper towels. Clean and sanitize high-touch areas on a daily basis (door handles, light switches, shared equipment, fridge handles, coffee makers, break room/lounge tables and counter tops). Conduct thorough cleaning and degreasing of break room and lounge room appliances, such as microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee machines, including the removal of expired food items in fridge. Specialized cleaning will include hard-to-reach areas such as ceilings, ceiling fans, high shelves, light fixtures that often require the use of ladders or extension poles. Perform periodic deep cleans, which involve interior/exterior window washing, carpet shampooing and refrigerator cleaning out. Identify and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards or needed repairs to facilities management team. Responsible for daily emptying of trash and recycling bins and ensuring proper disposal of waste. Replenish cleaning supplies after each shift. Ensure cleaning supplies are properly stored and in good working condition. Other tasks as assigned. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Previous work experience in commercial/residential cleaning is advantageous. Combination of education and experience determined by hiring manager. Specific Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications: Prior cleaning experience is highly preferred. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently. Time-management skills. Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb ladders, reach overhead, walk for long periods of time as cleaning is physically demanding and lift (up to 25-30 pounds). Ability to address unexpected issues like spills or the need for urgent cleaning. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including proper storage and disposal methods. Ability to operate cleaning equipment: vacuums, mops, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners. Physical Requirements: Candidates should be aware that the physical demands of the job may vary depending on the specific office/warehouse environment.
