Interacts with adult and older residents in a respectful and reassuring manner in resolution of complaints and/or concerns. Communicates effectively and tactfully with adult and older adult residents/patients, recognizing their age, cultural diversity, need, abilities and physical condition
Interacts with staff in a positive and effective manner, performing duties as part of a team.
Attend departmental meetings and appropriate inservice education programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Summary
Responsible for keeping facility, including all work and common areas, and outside grounds
in a clean and orderly condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure facility cleanliness (i.e. floors, walls, tables, appliances, windows, bathrooms, etc.).
Keep coffee, water fountains, and vending machine areas clean and sanitary.
Maintain landscaping and gutter area clean of debris, remove debris outside of facility, including but not limited to the patio, picnic areas, sidewalks and parking lots as needed.

Responsibilities
The Custodial staff are responsible ensuring all assigned areas of the College are cleaned, sanitized and maintained at the highest standard.
Duties include maintain buildings and other assigned areas of the College facilities in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition. Sweep, scrub, mop, clean, wax and apply finish to floors of rooms, hallways, stairs, and fire escapes; vacuum carpeted areas. Clean and dust walls, lockers, furniture, and fixtures; clean chalkboards and whiteboards.
Clean, wash, and scrub toilets and other plumbing fixtures; wash windows. Sweep walks and asphalt areas; dispose of rubbish.
Maintain instructional and custodial stock rooms.
Move supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Perform cleaning and disinfecting duties to keep the buildings neat and clean at all times.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, clean glass, dust, remove graffiti and clean other surfaces to prepare building for occupancy and to maintain them at an acceptable level.
Restock cleaning and paper supplies as needed.
Empty waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish and recycling.
Move furniture and arrange chairs, tables and other equipment as necessary.
Demonstrate proper judgment in behavior, speech, and dress in a neat, clean, and appropriate professional manner for the assignment and work setting.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, have initiative, be a self-starter, and strong attention to detail.
Must be able to work as a team member effectively with other personnel.
Willingness to perform other work as required by the department and Facilities Maintenance.
This position is also part of the severe weather response team. Custodial staff are required to participate in snow removal throughout campus, including but not limited to plowing, shoveling, clearing snow ice from walks, stairs, pathways, and roads, and being available for emergencies and scheduled "off hour" work as needed.
Qualifications
A minimum of one-year experience and/or any combination of training, experience, and/or education sufficient to perform the necessary duties. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
Must be able to work in extreme weather-related temperatures and conditions as needed.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to walking around campus, climbing stairs, climbing short ladders, lifting/carrying heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift over fifty (50+) pounds. Must be able to work off a lift, scaffolding, and/or ladder (over 30ft above the floor in some cases).
Ability to consistently stand/walk for up to 8hrs per day, frequent repeated bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling. Conditions will vary from indoor, outdoor, and field environments in all weather conditions.

Summary
Responsible for keeping facility, including all work and common areas, and outside grounds
in a clean and orderly condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure facility cleanliness (i.e. floors, walls, tables, appliances, windows, bathrooms, etc.).
Keep coffee, water fountains, and vending machine areas clean and sanitary.
Maintain landscaping and gutter area clean of debris, remove debris outside of facility, including but not limited to the patio, picnic areas, sidewalks and parking lots as needed.
Shipping and receiving areas (including receiving pad, ramp and dock) need to remain clean of debris, check area for any damage, and sweep ramp.
Check for oil spills and/or damage to facility and outside of building.
Sidewalks, parking lots, etc. need to be maintained during inclement weather.
Empty trash cans at Shipping/Receiving, Tool Maintenance, Production floor, Office, Production Control Office, and QA.
Clean all exterior walls, windows, doors and steps.
Assist with the maintenance of the oil/sludge separation system
Assist in maintaining and raising the flags.
Clean machines in die maintenance area and production areas.
Maintain cleanliness of rest rooms.
Clean light fixtures with use of lift.
Perform routine duties as assigned, (i.e. painting, clean-up of spills, assisting production).
Accurate recording of time including time-clock, job activities, and other data entry.
Assist in basic preventive maintenance activities such as applying grease or oil to designated equipment points on a weekly or monthly schedule.
Handle, store, and track lubricants, oils, and absorbents safely and in compliance with environmental and safety policies.
Perform visual checks for leaks, wear, or damage on equipment and report findings.
Keep maintenance and lubrication areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Support maintenance team by performing simple upkeep tasks such as tightening bolts, changing filters, or wiping down machine exteriors.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED)
Basic maintenance and cleaning experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written maintenance schedules
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to easily grasp mechanical concepts
