Responds to calls over radio.
Cleans warehouse racking and within individual slots of damaged product, spills, broken cases and pallets.
Sweeps, vacuums/mops restroom and break room floors, and cleans restroom fixtures routinely.
Restocks paper towels and toilet paper as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Most work is performed under typical warehouse conditions.
This position requires considerable amounts of walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs. Withstand long periods kneeling, squatting, or bending. Must withstand rotating shifts, work weekends, hot and refrigerated environments, and exposure to high levels of noise.
Potential mechanical hazards exist, such as, forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
May be required to work at different levels up to 4-story and perform aerial lift work on occasion.
Hands are frequently exposed to water and cleaning agents. Appropriate PPE will be provided if necessary.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
During any warehouse work the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor with a temperature range from 80 to -20 degrees.
Stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and extensive walking may be required in completion of job duties.

Daily Operations: The Custodian's primary responsibility is to execute the following:
Develop the interrelated systems and protocols to meet the janitorial and maintenance needs of the store.
Responsible for cleaning all areas including: all floors and floor mats, glass doors on retail equipment & coolers, all restrooms and maintain supplies, outdoor parking areas, recycling areas, cart area and entry areas, walls, ceilings, windows, screens, HVAC vents, floor moldings, department shelving, under registers, shelf strips, café area, clean and disinfect tables & chairs, trash cardboard, recycling enclosures.
Clean and address the needs of the breakroom.
Ensure all trash and recycling bins are emptied, clean appropriate areas for registers, offices, and back-stock areas.
Ensure scheduled maintenance of all cooling equipment, including condensers, retail cases (retail case resets and cleaning) in coordination with departments affected.
Assist in maintain safe entrance and exits during inclement weather, including spreading salt and shoveling if needed.
Work with Store Manager on equipment or supply needs. Coordinate work of subcontractors on an as needed basis.
Ensure compliance with health department, OSHA and other legal guidelines.
Ensures cleaning supplies are ordered as needed. Use environmentally safe supplies and forward safety sheets to Safety Committee representative.
Follow through on tasks such as light painting and spackling, changing light bulbs, hanging and anchoring into drywall, plunging sinks, assembling carts, etc.

Full Sense Range (vision, hearing and sense of smell) - The ability to read product labels, distinguish color and smell for quality control as well as the ability to communicate with vendors, contractors, customers, and co-workers.
