A day in the life:
Basic cleaning, including cleaning of all common areas, restrooms, entrances, elevators, walkways, windows, furniture, fixtures, stairs, chairs, tables, telephones, drinking fountains, trashing, dusting polishing and other assigned items/areas. We have multiple shifts available as well as both full time, part time and seasonal opportunities.
What you'll do as an Exceptional Team Member
Responsible for all basic cleaning
Cleaning of restrooms includes restocking toilet tissue and other dispensers, emptying trash, clean and sanitize fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls, sweep and mop tile floors, and clean toilets and urinals
Move furniture, vacuum, reposition furniture, empty trash and replace liners
Check all trash containers prior to moving it
Cleaning includes dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor and spot cleaning glass
Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns
Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift

This position is open to applicants or individuals who are located in or around Groveport, OH and able to work 2nd Shift scheduled Monday-Friday 2PM-10:30PM with flexibility for longer hours based off of business and peak needs.
The Role: This position is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in an assigned area of the facility. Duties include tasks ranging from dusting to operating floor-cleaning equipment depending on assignment
What You'll Do:
Empty trash containers, dumping waste into proper receptacles. Sweep, vacuum and/or mop floors, stairs, and landings. Dust furniture, railings, ledges, etc. Dust/clean lights and fixtures
Clean tables, sinks, toilets, mirrors, windows, and other surfaces as necessary. Use a plunger to clear blockages in sinks, urinals, toilets, and drains. Fill dispensers
Perform miscellaneous jobs and small projects to support operations including such tasks as putting up tables, configuring rooms, moving furniture, sorting pallets, baling cardboard and/or plastics, loading and unloading trailers, operating the universal waste room and/or compactors, etc.
Collect and maintain necessary supplies, prepare cleaning solutions, follow safety requirements on material safety data sheets, label containers and notify Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Custodian of low supplies. Return supplies to storage area when finished
Shovel snow, operate a snow blower, spread salt, mop water, clean up spills, respond to emergency incident containment/clean-up needs
Operate floor care and/or carpet cleaning equipment
Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
May require certification to operation forklift or other powered industrial truck equipment

How you'll contribute
The MaintenanceWorker assists in assigned activities of plant operation functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds of the hospital in an operative and safe working condition. * Performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to buildings, facilities and equipment utilizing skills in several trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is: Ability to do the work of a MaintenanceWorker without more than normal supervision: Perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as receive general guidance on assignments, which may include routine maintenance on heating, refrigeration and air units; carpentry; painting; masonry; plumbing; or electrical.
Selective Placement Factor: The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and any Installation and/or DOD license required for the operation a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Applicants selected for this position will be required to undergo a driving test to be certified to operate a forklift. Failure to obtain and maintain a valid license and certifications will result in your in-eligibility for placement into this position or removal from this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstrate the ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled as well as more complex duties such as: visual examination and operational test to determine the extent of the repair needed involving carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and operating motor vehicles (with gross weight under26,000 pounds.)
Physical Effort: Requires considerable standing, stooping, and bending; works on ladders and scaffolds which require overhead work or in stretches, cramped or awkward positons. Considerable arm movements are required when nailing and using such tools as planers and hand saws. Occasionally may lift and carry items weighing about 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works in shop and outside in all kinds of weather. When working in shop, is subject to presence of sawdust, to cuts from hand or powered tools and danger from flying splinters and chips. Works on scaffolding and high ladders or rooftops when nailing and installing completed items. On an intermittent basis, the incumbent may be required to report for duty during the night or on weekends to perform snow or ice removal duties as a member of the DSCC snow removal crew. Duties require hand shoveling of snow form walks and steps, operation of: walking and riding type snow blowers, tractor with bucket, and tractor with snow blade attachment, front end loader, or 5 ton dump truck with snow blade and salt spreader attachments. In anticipation of these duties, employee may be required to attend classes and be certified in the operation of the above vehicles and equipment.
