Responsibilities:

§ Work in an agile and fast-paced environment interfacing with management, business and senior technology members

§ Design and develop applications utilizing complex Java/JEE technologies and middleware systems

§ Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code

§ Manage end-to-end development cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing and maintenance

§ Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

§ Provide status updates, proper escalations & reporting to management & business

§ Manage Source Code repository and support production releases

§ Identify and assist in resolution of risks and issues that will adversely affect planned project milestones

§ Understand technical and Business processes of various front office, trading and settlement applications

Minimum Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering with more than 5 years of experience performing Java/JEE software engineering within a financial services environment.

The Role

The Software Engineer will work in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation. The Payment Services Hub is built on a 100% Java EE platform supplemented with extensive frameworks. The Software Engineer must be capable of producing high quality code, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role liaises with project managers, lead developers, business analysts, and may also include some client interaction.

• Develop Java code that’ s meets design and architectural requirements and supports system testing.
• Understand the impact of changes across the application.
• Operate effectively, and with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and escalate issues effectively
• Discusses aspects of the design with architects, team leads and business analysts to check understanding and raise concerns
• Enhance and maintain existing application software, continually providing support for internally developed applications
• Accurately communicate development status on a regular basis to team leads
• Assist the production support team in defect analysis

• 3 to 5 years real-world professional experience in server-side Java development including the Java EE technologies (JDBC, EJB, and JMS), and Structured Framework experience (Struts)
• Working knowledge of XML and related technologies such as JAXP, JAXB, and XPath
• Experience in developing Java EE applications on WebLogic or WebSphere
• Background in relational databases and experience with applications that utilize relational databases
• General knowledge of SQL
• Ability to apply advanced software programming to solve complex business problems.
• Must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and will have exceptional writing and communication skills to establish relationships and work with all levels internally and externally.
• Demonstrated record developing successful applications that are highly integrated and reliable

Software Engineer

• Ability to operate effectively, and with a sense of possibility, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of the Financial, Banking sector, specifically Payments Systems highly preferred

**A Brief Overview**

The mid-level Digital Payments Java Dev will develop, test, and implement Java services changes for our Zelle/P2P platform as well as other digital payments services in a distributed applications environment according to existing software standards. Individuals in this job work as part of a team on mid-sized projects and independently on smaller efforts to deliver high quality products to our customers in the rapidly-growing Zelle network. At times individuals in this position will be responsible for resolving critical problems with supervision. All other duties will be performed with minimal supervision.

**Minimum Requirements**
