Job Description We are excited to find our next great Legal Counsel - Director of Litigation. This position will be a part of Jayco's in-house legal team and primarily support commercial litigation activities, with a principal responsibility of performing outside counsel duties as lead counsel in litigation matters arising in California. The ideal candidate will have experience in private practice litigation and be capable of managing all aspects of litigation from case intake through resolution, particularly involving breach of warranty and claims under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. This role reports to Jayco's General Counsel and works closely with the broader in-house legal department as well as Jayco's Consumer Affairs team and outside counsel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as lead litigation counsel in California-based cases involving breach of warranty and Song-Beverly Warranty Act claims. Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. Collaborate with the in-house legal team and Consumer Affairs Department to develop legal strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Manage and coordinate with outside counsel, experts, and vendors as needed. Provide risk analysis, legal advice, and training related to warranty and consumer protection issues. Maintain litigation files and track case progress in internal systems.
