Purpose

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.

SUMMARY: Provides emergency medical services to all medical and trauma patients within the Macy community and surrounding areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Must be knowledgeable in assessments, treatments and procedures pertaining to EMS in accordance with State regulations and protocols.
Must be able to report patient conditions to receiving hospitals via radio and observe proper radio etiquette.
Must maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital matters.
Use proper channels of communication/chain of command.
Maintain good time and attendance records and participate in staff meetings and projects.
Have a positive attitude toward position and co-workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Duties demand contact with patients, medical staff at the receiving facilities, members of the Tribe, general public, IHS facilities, providers and officials of county, state and federal agencies.
Attends and participates in continuing education programs and maintains certifications.
Duties require good decision making and problem solving skills based on data collected from patient assessment.
Needs to have flexible working schedules and is subject to frequent interruptions.
Must learn the main geographical area of operations and surrounding areas including all housing projects, rural homes, receiving hospitals, businesses, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.
Works beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
Must be able to see, hear and life heavy patients and equipment (minimum of 50 lbs.) to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.

The EMS Academy is a full-time eight-week paid training and education program for individuals interested in starting a career in the Emergency Medical Services field as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). In addition to the paid training, this position offers medical and retirement benefits.
The EMT is fully responsible for functioning within the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Basic Life Support (BLS) Scope of Practice and is accountable for the quality of emergency and non-emergency medical care delivered. In delivering pre-hospital care, the EMT performs all basic life support techniques, provides specified field treatment for medical / traumatic emergencies and transports patients to the appropriate medical facility via ambulance. In addition to ambulance transportation, the EMT also is required to provide medical transportation by paratransit van or by medical taxi as permitted by the Public Utility Commission.
EMTs conduct patient assessments to assess the nature and extent of illness and / or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance and provides basic life support to all patients, adhering to established protocols, organizational procedures, and the PA DOH EMS Scope of Practice.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participate in a paid ten-week intensive classroom and clinical field EMT education.
Maintain a course average of 80% or higher throughout the course.
Obtain Emergency Vehicle Operation certification (PA DOH EMSVO Certification) by the end of the programs training.
Obtain PA Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician Certification (PA DOH EMT certification) within eight weeks (56 calendar days) from the last day of the course.
Serves as an Emergency Vehicle Operator or Paratransit Personnel as required, or until the employee acquires the necessary state certification.
Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Be fluent in the English language - Must be able to read, comprehend written materials, interpret spoken information, and effectively communicate via in writing and in person, the English language, telephone, telecommunications, and other electronic devices.
Be able to stand frequently; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop; kneel or crouch.
Ability to frequently lift and/ or move more than 100lbs.
Possess Valid Driver's license with no license suspension in the past two years or DUI convictions in the past four years
Cannot have been convicted of a crime greater than a summary offense that would prevent obtaining a Dept. of Health, Bureau of EMS Certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Be able to pass a post-offer drug test screening
Cannot have been excluded or listed as ineligible to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, or other Federal programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED Certification
* Possess and maintain, at a minimum, VA EMS (Virginia Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services) recognized EMT-B certification. (REQUIRED)
* Possess and maintain a recognized Structural Firefighter I certification. (PREFERRED)
* Possess and maintain a Hazardous Materials Operations Level. (PREFERRED)
* Possess and maintain Valid Driver's License (REQUIRED)
* Possess and maintain EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course) certification as recognized by Virginia office EMS (REQUIRED)
* Must pass in-depth background check, which includes fingerprinting though VA DCJS (Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services)
* Must get and maintain a Virginia unarmed security license. (REQUIRED)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Respond to fires and emergency medical calls.
* Determine the nature and extent of the emergency and provide for response and deployment of adequate resources to properly handle the emergency.
* Drive and operate fire apparatus, or other specialized department vehicles.
* Operate and maintain various power tools such as, saws, ventilation fans, extrication devices and other task specific equipment.
* Lay hose lines, adjust water and pressure streams, place and climb ladders, ventilate buildings, rescue persons, place salvage covers and perform clean-up operations.
* Access, package, extricate and transport sick and injured patients from a variety of environments, including, but not limited to, burning buildings, wrecked vehicles, confined spaces, water, wilderness areas, and high and low angle areas.
* Prepare and maintain records and reports regarding fire alarms, emergency medical calls, fire prevention inspection, and plant education activities and supplies.
* Provide assistance and administer appropriate basic, or advanced, levels of first aid treatment to ill or injured persons per VA EMS protocols and practices.
* Communicates clearly using portable radios and digital communication devices from emergency scenes.
* Participate in drills and classes pertaining to firefighting, emergency medical practices, hazardous materials, special rescue techniques and other continuing education programs.
* Conduct fire safety inspections in plant access buildings.
* Position is subject to hazards. Working in limited visibility, proximity to electrical currents, and moving mechanical parts and equipment, exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, fume, odors, mists, dusts, gases, or poor ventilation. Position is subject to all environmental conditions indoors and outdoors. Position is REQUIRED to wear self-contained breathing apparatus to complete portions of the job essential functions.
* Position is extremely subject to other duties not directly related to the firefighting or medical field such as snow removal, lunch deliveries, perimeter gate checks, safety eyewash inspection's, locomotive engineer / brakeman, security gate guard, brush hogging, etc.

Responsibilities:
Manage all waste streams to minimize waste, increase recycling and maintain organized and clean areas
Sort all waste to maximize recycling
Load recycle products on trailers.

Position Summary:
The 3rd Shift Health and Safety Coordinator position plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of team members during overnight operations. This position primarily supports the sanitation and maintenance crews and responds to medical emergencies, performs routine health checks, and assists with safety compliance across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide immediate medical care and first aid to employees in case of injury or illness.
Support sanitation crew with safety oversight, including PPE compliance and ergonomic assessments.
Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments during sanitation operations.
Assist with incident documentation, reporting, and follow-up investigations.
Maintain medical supplies, first aid kits, and emergency response equipment.
Collaborate with HR and Safety teams on wellness initiatives and injury prevention.
Respond to facility-wide emergencies and coordinate with external emergency services if needed.
Support other departments as needed with safety-related tasks or health monitoring.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling employee health information.
Must be available to work weekends as needed
Qualifications:
Current EMT certification (State of Virginia or National Registry) or LPN/RN Certification
CPR/AED certification required.
Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and make quick decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
