The Opportunity ...
* Direct and Inspect equipment installation, supervise equipment start up
* Accomplish service calls for installation technical assistance, equipment surveys, safety inspections, and to satisfy scheduled Service Agreements.
* Field service calls to diagnose trouble and make repairs such as adjustments, parts replacements, timing and synchronization of mechanisms as may be electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic. Submit reports.
* Work with Sales, Engineering, or Manufacturing regarding field requests. Advise of service problems that indicate design or manufacturing deficiencies and the like.
* Work closely with engineering in the development of new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
* Product testing of equipment under actual operating conditions and application to the customer's product.
Occasional Responsibilities:

* Knowledge and Skills: High school graduate. Two years tech schools or equivalent is preferred. A working background in PLC, control circuit wiring, Electro-pneumatic systems, PID controller and computer-based programs. Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:
Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/ processes used, judgement, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job.
During initial training or training on products assigned, supervision will be made by direct or indirect involvement of other trained personnel. Guidance for Start-up and troubleshooting techniques will be provided by other trained personnel. As competency levels increase, the Service Manager will decrease the supervision and guidance of others. Ultimately this position requires minimal direct supervision. Judgement, planning and resourcefulness are required to high degree after training.
This position is considered safety sensitive, due to the fact that it will require work and interaction with employees in a manufacturing/production environment.
Supervisory Responsibility: May have occasional indirect reports such as Road Crew or Contractors on site. This could vary from one to six people for installation and re-building of equipment.

Work Environment: Majority of work will be confined to factory type environment. Some work as found at pre-construction environment. Working conditions are as those found in process plants were cooking and freezing equipment is in use. Travel can be 90% to 100% of work time and not restricted to the North America Region.
Physical Demands: Physical demands as would be found in factory work. Heavy lifting is not routinely required. Maneuvering around new construction sites and factory sites consisting of multiple stories is routine.

Essential Functions
Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
Supervise Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians in the completion of electrical testing duties.
Guide, mentor, train, and supervise Level 1 and 2 certified NETA Trainees and Assistant Technicians.
Observe testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians, ensure testing of similar items is consistent across test technicians
Track project scope completion and communicate ABM and Customer Management
Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.
Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays.
Perform relay calibration and power metering.
Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.
Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
Review and submit timecards, expense, and project reports.
Document test results and complete field reports.
Rotate emergency on-call duty.
Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws
Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment
Qualifications

Field Service Technician provides technical service and support for customers who own and operate Evergreen filling machines. The technician is trained and knowledgeable to install, inspect, troubleshoot and service this equipment. The technician also trains the customer's personnel on proper operating and maintenance techniques to ensure good packing outputs.
· Conducts/controls service activities as assigned to ensure timely customer support and safety are achieved while meeting the budgeted goals and objectives for productivity and utilization.
· Communicates well with central scheduling, management, other departments and customers.
· Functions as the equipment service technician within the departmental advising EPE service management and/or engineering of any problems or situations with models of current or modified design.
· Provides learning experience for both customer and EPE plant personnel on machine operation.

About the Role
The Service Engineer position is the primary point of contact responsible for training, installation and maintenance of all HSG tech machinery in our Chicago showcase space and equipment purchased by HSG Tech customers in the US region. Position Summary

Education and Experience:

Leads and performs all activities associated with production jobs, demand/capacity planning, inventory kanban, and scheduling.
Promote, drive, and support all applicable safety standards and measures.
Conducts training sessions with new hires, cross-training with pre-existing repair technicians, and external training requests as needed.
Works with the repair team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing digital imaging hardware and peripherals.
Perform supervisory activities including timecard review and performance coaching.
Assists Customer Service in responding to customer inquiries concerning various aspects of systems operation and problems or issues associated with the digital imaging kiosks and related systems.
Provides technical support and internal training for digital imaging hardware and peripherals.
Maintains the integrity of all aspects of the repair & return process.
Troubleshoots hardware to component level with ability to replace defective components on PC based systems, dye-sublimation printers, digital cameras, etc.
Diagnoses, repairs, inspects and reports status of PC based computer equipment and related digital peripherals.
Assists in repair reporting, documentation, and developing departmental procedures.
Fills in and performs the duties and responsibilities of the Service & Repair Supervisor when necessary.
Reinstalls operating system software and digital imaging application software onto related platforms.
Responsible for repairing and maintaining inventory of field-replacement equipment necessary to fulfill warranty agreement with customers.
Will assist with production activities as needed.
Promote and develop ERP utilization and expertise to support the above functions.
Assist in promoting and maintaining 5S principles and initiatives.
Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Three or more years in a leadership position.
Thorough knowledge of an ERP system and the necessary functions related to repair, production, and order management.
Three or more years of hardware experience in technical repair, hardware troubleshooting, and/or data analysis and scripting environment.
Functional knowledge of digital imaging systems.
In depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair PC based platforms.
Functional knowledge of PC based hardware platforms including computing devices and components.
Ability to maintain knowledge of changing platforms.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a good working relationship with fellow co-workers.
Strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands
The position requires the individual to spend extensive time at a desk working with programs and computer equipment including a variety of photographic and photographic related equipment in an office or laboratory environment. The position may also require some lifting of standard computer and computer-related equipment, up to 50 pounds.
