Grinder Machinist Responsibilities:
Set up and operate a variety of grinding machines to produce precision parts.
Select and install appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and tooling based on material and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine machining requirements.
Monitor the grinding process, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts for defects, dimensions, and surface finish using precision measuring instruments.
Maintain required tolerances and surface finishes on all parts produced.
Grinder Machinist Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating grinding machines in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong understanding of grinding principles, materials, and tooling selection.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

Remove spatter buildup from fixtures and also checking cables are secure.
Grease robots as scheduled. Perform robot backups and battery replacement.
Perform and support basic maintenance activities.
Work with Weld Maintenance technician to learn technical skills that is needed to develop to become a Weld Maintenance Technician

Good math, counting, part number recognition and computer skills, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities
Welds components to specified instructions, utilizing standard welding equipment (TIG, Flux Core, MIG, Stick) to predetermined dimensions and tolerance.
Verifies and acknowledges component part is properly prepared, fabricated, and braced for the weld process specified.
Able to operate brake press, hydraulic presses, drill press, and hydraulic rollers.
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Accurately records job transactions and router hours.
Abides by all KBC policies with emphasis on attendance and safety.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED required). Vocational training course completion is preferred.
Must have obtained ASME 9 certification, AWS D1.1 certification, or equivalent on Stainless and Carbon Steel, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core, along with three years' work experience in welding MIG, TIG and Flux core.
Also required is the ability to read and interpret blueprints, read measuring instruments (i.e. tape measures, etc.), and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
Must be dependable with an excellent attendance record in order to maintain strict production schedules.

Position Summary :
Experience MIG and TIG Welding Stainless Steel, Aluminum and other metals to deliver a quality weld that is also aesthetically pleasing.
Ability to “Walk the Cup” and be familiar with using hard automation such as plasma weld-around.
Fabricate and assemble components and parts - Measure, cut, grind and shape components using varies tools.
Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, layouts, and other types of work orders/instructions.
Ability to follow Quality assurance procedures and processes.
Meet and maintain quality and performance expectations, including productivity, efficiency, and time management, all while maintaining a high-level attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.
Other duties may be assigned to accommodate the needs of the company and/or shop.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Welder is responsible for performing tasks involved in the production of bases and frames of aluminum trailers. This includes measuring, cutting, and welding of aluminum.
Reads and follows blueprints and work orders ensuring a quality product that meets customer demands.
Welds different facets of a trailer, including but not limited to: tacking, clamping, and welding with proper bead size on bases and cages in accordance with the work order; ensures quality of welds for structural integrity.
Obtains raw materials from Material Handlers.
Buffs out rough edges using a hand-held power grinder.
Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues including but not limited to, defects in material, damage to the trailer, and deviations from work order.
Ensures that finished product meets quality expectations. Strives for the highest level of quality and understands the need for continuous improvement; supports the concept of “good enough is never good enough.”
Maintains a clean and safe work area; works to minimize scrap, places unused material back in appropriate area, and disposes of waste appropriately.
Follows all safety procedures, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reports any accidents or near misses to supervisor immediately.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
