Mr. Hamakawa joined Sanwa Bank in 1978. In June 2012, he assumed the position of senior managing director of MUFG while maintaining his jurisdiction over corporate planning. In addition, Mr. Hamakawa is a director of MUTB, and he helps monitor the management of MUTB with a perspective granted from his experience.
