Role Summary
The Quality Manager will manage and coordinate Quality support for a group. This position will be responsible for planning, implementing and supervising construction quality assurance programs in compliance with contract documents and Company policy. The focus will be on JE Dunn Self-Perform scopes of work, including concrete, precase, masonry, steel and general carpentry. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
Creates Project Specific Quality Plans, assigns accountability to the appropriate individuals for each task and ensures the Plan is regularly updated.
* Ensures the Project Quality Status Report is completed prior to the Monthly Project Review Meeting
* Participates in creating National Initiatives such as Quality Assurance Manual Updates, Quality Broadcasts, Quality University, etc.
* Ensures all Major Quality Issues are listed and up-to-date on the Project Quality Status Report
* Manages and coordinates Quality support for a group (process and people)
* Provides updated communication about quality philosophies, JE Dunn quality standards and values of the Company with business partners, foreman, superintendents and project managers to ensure compliance
* Interprets company, owner and government requirements and recommendations in relation to quality construction methods and processes with field and office staff
* Provides coordination and oversight to the project specific quality plan
* Performs QA constructability reviews for assigned regional or national projects
* Conducts and assists with planning and design of quality-related training programs and classes with internal employees and external business partners
* Utilizes internal quality assurance systems and tools to prepare reports for field superintendents, project managers and subcontractors detailing compliant and non-compliant conditions
* Conducts warranty-related investigations in support of operations and makes recommendations for corrective action
* Ensures field observations and reporting is properly documented through internal Company systems and tools and monitors for resolution
* May be required to review and certify submittals for accuracy
* Participates in staff, team or quality committee meetings, fostering quality efforts, reporting on quality trends or issues and creating communication plans to mitigate the issues
* Serves as onsite quality representative on single project or multiple projects as needed
* Partners with project team to complete subcontractor quality performance evaluations at project completion
* Develops robust relationships with internal and external clients, including owners, business partners, manufacturer's reps and third-party consultants

Experience
* 8+ years construction quality-related experience (Required).

Base compensation for the Quality Manager role in Minnesota is between $121,746 and $152,181, depending on experience, and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive a target bonus based on both individual and company performance.

Mortenson is currently seeking an Assistant Design Phase Manager to join our Wind Group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Assistant Design Phase Manager is responsible for providing technical project leadership during the design phase as it relates to customer experience, financial performance, schedule, estimating, design and planning that results in a smooth transition to construction operations. Establish and manage project budget and scope expectations and ensuring alignment between them

Support Design Phase Manager and/or Project Executive with management of design phase cost issues
Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, coordinating with stakeholders and managing accountability for meeting set achievements during the design phase
Leading and coordination of due diligence for permitting and code compliance requirements that apply to each project.
Ensure regulatory approvals and permits are obtained
Manage and/or attend project site visits as necessary during the pursuit and design phase
Management of the proposal and design phase in alignment with our estimate, the RFP, and current procurement lead times
Coordination and management of the proposal process during an active RFP
Ensure proper alignment of design documents and project execution plan across all internal and external stakeholders

Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates and time projections for preparing vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree is from a school of engineering with accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum

12+ years of related work experience in system studies, ideally for wind, solar, storage projects. Including modeling inverter generation systems with a strong understanding of power flows, short circuit, reactive power, losses, TOV, harmonics and arc flash. Understanding all inputs, modeling factors and being able to communicate results in report format and verbally to others
1+ years of experience leading teams and project scope
Experienced in electrical power engineering theories and principles
