Depending on the level of knowledge and experience, the Field Specialist roles may change during the operation depending on the needs of the client. Job DescriptionDescription:
This is a full time position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists the Physical and Occupational Therapist with patient care and plan of treatment.
Establishes and maintains effective communication with patients, family members and other departments.
Assist the front office staff as needed.
Responds to patient questions and inquiries as required to maintain a high patient satisfaction level.
Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment and keeping a safe and clean environment in the clinic as outlined in “Rehab tech duties list”
Assists with supply inventorying and stocking and organization of clinic shelves/cabinets.
Assists the Lead Rehab Tech with special projects.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Assists all patients on rehabilitation floor.
Assist with seamless and efficient clinic function and daily clinic flow.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.
Requirements:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from a technical program or BA in Kinesiology or Exercise Science is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
One year experience, in an out-patient therapy clinic is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of application of exercise as directed by therapist.
Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, and quality control.
Knowledge of how to use therapy equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
SKILLS:
Skill in application of exercise as directed by therapist.
Skill in effectively communicating with Physical and Occupational Therapists, and front office staff
Skill in using a computer system/EMR software
Skill in accurate recognition of patient/clinic danger and appropriate fall risk patients.
ABILITIES:
Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers and staff.
Ability to anticipate and recognize needs of clinic and therapist
Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment. Some travel within community.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard. Requires occasional support all size patients in transfers. Ability to lift 50 lbs. floor to waist. Demands of kneeling, squatting, and overhead lifting.
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
LOS employee handbook must be read, and acknowledgement receipt signed.

OSHA Requirements and training to include:

Restorative Aide Responsibilities:
Safely lifting, moving and transferring residents as required.
Feeding or assisting residents with eating or drinking as necessary.
Timely responding to call lights.
Monitoring changes in resident health and reporting changes to the charge nurse.
Qualifications:
Nursing Assistance Certification required.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Highly developed observation skills
