Thomas was recently selected by the Financial Times as one of the top LGBT executives in the world, alongside Jim Fitterling, CEO, The Dow Chemical Company, and Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder, Prezi. Thomas has been credited as one of the “most innovative people in Washington, DC” (DCInno) and a top “minority business leader” (Washington Business Journal), but his passion for entrepreneurship began humbly, growing up on a farm in Missouri, where he learned valuable lessons that helped him launch a successful technology career and grow as an entrepreneur. Thomas’s passion for social impact led him to launch The Driver Foundation, a philanthropic fund focused on youth and diversity. He serves on the Board of The Trevor Project, the national nonprofit providing suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. The Mayor of the District of Columbia appointed him as Chair of The Innovation Technology and Inclusion Council where he advises the Mayor and the public on ways in which to grow the District's innovation and tech-economy. He also serves on the Foundation Board of his alma mater Northwest Missouri State University.
