Experience in a hospital or nursing home in a leadership position desired. The ability to make accurate nursing assessments and decisions and good clinical skills; good leadership and management skills; maturity and the ability to work under pressure. Requirements Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times; interprets policies to staff, residents, families and physicians and ensures their implementation. Notify physician, when necessary, of changes in residents' conditions, weight changes, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal lab and X-ray results and any other information as necessary. Investigate and follow up incident reports and take corrective action when appropriate. Administer PRN medications, IV medications, TPN, and other treatments. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, Physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies and ancillary Service providers. Receive medication delivery from pharmacy, check all drugs received and documents proof of me. Accept and document physician's orders and order medication as needed according to facility procedures. Dictations received. Assist/ Prepare nursing assistant assignments as well as coordinate staff schedule for 1st and 2nd shift nurses and nursing assistants. Record staff call-offs and re-assign staff or cover shortages with facility staff. Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
