Pros of working at Jensen Hughes

Exposure to a variety of institutional clients with varied needs for fire safety based on geography, jurisdiction and industry.

Cons of working at Jensen Hughes

It feels like a fake, shell corporation. Senior management talks only happy talk but provides little substantiation for all the good news. Financials are totally opaque and it seems doubtful it's breaking even.

Remote work, although they are often phony about it. "Remote" jobs are often forced to travel or go hybrid. That is fine, but they should be honest about it.

What do you like best about Jensen Hughes's CEO and the leadership team?

Very little. The best that can be said is that they talk a good game, pretty up the financials and customer facing offices and stage positive publicity events so that a sale of the company to a competitor or new private equity company is more likely.

How would you improve Jensen Hughes's culture?

Be more honest about things like hours expected of engineers, remote work and the company's financial condition.

How did you prepare for the Jensen Hughes interview?

It's tough to prepare for an interview given how little is known about the company's culture, structure and book of work. I reviewed some of my postgraduate industrial engineering texts, which seemed to work.

How does your compensation at Jensen Hughes compare to the industry average?

Base salary is OK, but when total hours worked are considered, it feels low. Variable compensation is highly varied.

What's the diversity at Jensen Hughes like?

I don't perceive any lack of diverse demographics in the projects I've worked on or the offices I've seen. It reflects the industry as a whole

What brings you the most joy at Jensen Hughes?

Being able to bring a project in on time, close to budget (they all go over) and to a client's satisfaction.
