**Job Overview**
Jensen Hughes is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented team member to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will deliver exceptional Life Safety, Physical Environment, and Emergency Management consulting services to healthcare organizations, helping them achieve compliance with CMS and/or Accrediting Organization standards. **Responsibilities**
+ Conduct comprehensive, wall-to-wall assessments of healthcare facilities and mult-day surveys, capturing critical data, developing inclusive plans of correction, and collaborating with clients to implement solutions that meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA, Joint Commission, CMS, DNV, and other AHJs.
+ Utilize Emergency Management principles to support consulting efforts, program assessments, hazard vulnerability analyses (HVAs), procedure design, training, and drills/exercises tailored to healthcare clients' unique needs.
+ Lead client engagements, cultivating strong relationships, and driving business growth with a focus on accessibility and innovation in consulting services
**Requirements and Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in fire protection, fire science, safety, emergency management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience combined with an associate degree will also be considered. Certification as CHFM and/or CFPS is a plus.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, particularly in Life Safety, Environment of Care (Physical Environment), and Emergency Management.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, fostering a high level of productivity under pressure.
+ Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with a strong commitment to quality and inclusion.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and respectfully to diverse audiences.
+ Proven ability to translate codes, regulations, and standards into practical, client-focused solutions.
+ Strong knowledge of NFPA 101 (The Life Safety Code ) and related standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 72, and 25) and familiarity with accrediting organizations' Life Safety and Environment of Care standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, DNV, ACHC, AAAHC).
+ Comprehensive understanding of CMS 2016 Emergency Preparedness Rule and related Emergency Management standards, as well as relevant NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 99, NFPA 1600).
+ Proficient in public speaking, with the ability to deliver inclusive and engaging presentations to diverse groups.
+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and adaptable to learning new tools.
+ Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
+ Willingness to travel potentially up to 50% domestically, with opportunities for international travel.

You will be part of our Mid-Atlantic team, working collaboratively with other combustible dust and process safety professionals across North America to solve the challenges of local, national and international clients. This individual will perform or direct engineering consulting services, pertaining to the evaluation of combustible dust hazards. Technical work will involve performing hazard assessments focused on combustible dust along with other project work involving explosion analysis and/or testing. **Responsibilities**
+ Perform and manage engineering work associated with combustible dust hazards
+ Review and provide QA/QC for DHA reports prepared by internal staff
+ Conduct site inspections to evaluate compliance with industry and insurer standards
+ Develop dust testing recommendations and analyze dust test results
+ Conduct third-party review and acceptance testing of explosion protection systems
+ Develop explosion protection system designs and budgetary cost estimates

We are a leading fire protection consulting firm providing a range of professional services involving life safety, fire protection, security and mass notification on commercial, institutional and industrial projects for clients worldwide.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience that includes a combination of Code Consulting, Hazard Recognition and Analysis, Performance Based Design, and Fire Protection System Design. Candidates should be a registered Professional Engineer with proven project management and fire protection engineering experience. It is highly desirable that candidates have consulted for or been associated with fire protection work specifically in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and chemical industries.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and manage engineering activities for assigned projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

Requirements and Qualifications
S. Degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Fire Protection or Chemical
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is required.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE), particularly in Fire Protection is strongly desired.,
Should have knowledge of hazards and processes associated with refining, midstream terminals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, or similar high hazard facilities.
Should have experience in hazard recognition and analysis techniques capable of developing practical solutions to complex design challenges.
Preferred ability to develop models and interpret results from programs such as PHAST, FLACS, or similar.
Should have the ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiating skills.

**Responsibilities**
+ Perform professional-level fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, performance-based fire engineering design, under the direction of a P.E. or an experienced consultant.
+ Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed on assigned tasks to see that these items are complete, accurate and in accordance with good professional service practice standards.
+ Assist in the resolution of design problems by performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
+ Identify applicable codes and standards to reference in evaluating how to respond to inquiries.
+ Conduct and document basic building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm systems reviews, smoke control systems reviews, and basic sprinkler and water supply systems reviews, including hydraulic calculations.
+ Apply engineering calculations including size required, means of egress, maximum allowable building area, sprinkler system water supplies and smoke control equipment.
+ Submit progress reports to Project Managers and Project Leaders.
+ Position may involve some CADD document preparation/production.
