The R&D Project Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Jeremiah's Italian Ice's innovation pipeline by coordinating research and development activities, managing documentation, and supporting hands-on product development. This role bridges organization and creativity, ensuring R&D projects progress efficiently from concept through testing, documentation, and execution while maintaining alignment with Jeremiah's innovation process. Working closely with the Director of R&D and cross-functional partners, the R&D Project Coordinator supports daily operations of the R&D facility, manages project deliverables, and actively participates in product development activities including prototyping, equipment testing, and taste testing. This role requires a strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, product safety and regulatory fundamentals, supplier collaboration, and cost awareness to support successful launches and product optimization initiatives. This is a full-time, Orlando-based role. Travel is limited and primarily local, occurring between the R&D facility, corporate office, and company stores within the Orlando market. Essential Functions
Support new product development from initial concept through final formulation, including testing, documentation, and presentations, with an emphasis on Limited Time Offers (LTOs), menu platforms, and innovation calendar execution.
Assist in executing key R&D meetings and presentations, including large cross-functional product reviews and innovation forums (e.g., JFAC-style meetings).
Organize, coordinate, and facilitate testing processes such as product cuttings, equipment testing, taste tests, water quality assessments, and product demonstrations.
Partner with the Director of R&D to develop, maintain, and organize comprehensive R&D documentation, including finished product specifications, raw and packaging material specifications, recipes, formulations, product safety documentation, and cost analyses.
Support supplier collaboration and relationship management by coordinating communication, documentation, and follow-up with ingredient, packaging, and equipment suppliers.
Develop, maintain, and present project deliverables including equipment testing summaries, product and sample testing results, regulatory and safety considerations, and project progress reports.
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration by providing accurate, timely, and proactive R&D information to internal stakeholders, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
Proactively manage the R&D facility by maintaining, setting up, and breaking down testing equipment and ensuring the facility is prepared for daily testing, presentations, and supplier interactions.
Provide administrative and organizational support to the R&D department to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and consistent project progress.
Learn, understand, and execute against Jeremiah's Italian Ice's innovation process, including stage gates, milestones, innovation calendars, and launch timelines.
Participate hands-on in product development activities, including prototyping, testing, optimization, and refinement of new and existing products to improve quality, cost, and performance.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research, product development, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Working knowledge of the product development lifecycle, including concept development, testing, validation, and launch.
Basic product safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance knowledge; ability to research and stay current with applicable standards.
Experience working with suppliers, including coordination, communication, and relationship management.
Understanding of product costing, cost drivers, and opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
Strong organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Docs; ability to quickly learn new software.

SummaryThe Facilities Technician ensures all company-owned Jeremiah's Italian Ice locations and support facilities remain in excellent operating condition. This individual performs and manages repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment servicing across refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Acting as the primary “hands-on” field technician, this role focuses on executing work directly while reducing reliance on third-party vendors. The Facilities Technician will also collaborate with a Facilities Consultant to implement best practices, manage preventive maintenance schedules, and track work through a ticketing/log system. This position is field-based, with regular travel primarily in the Orlando area, and occasional travel to Tampa and Jacksonville to service corporate stores, R&D, and the Support Center. Essential Functions
Perform routine and emergency repairs on commercial refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Repair all plumbing & electrical fixtures including sinks, dipper wells, grease traps, and mixers.
Repair all refrigeration fixtures including ice cream & batch ice equipment, walk-in coolers, freezers, and standalone refrigerators.
Repair and replace doors, door locks, and hinges.
Repair floor tile, walls, and ceiling tiles.
Install shelves and perform miscellaneous carpentry work.
Perform interior and exterior painting as needed.
Perform minor repairs to asphalt (temporary/cold patch) and cement (grind/crack-fill/re-seal).
Conduct minor roof leak repairs.
Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including TV menu boards and related components. Coordinate with a licensed electrician for any work that requires permitting or involves circuit breaker replacement to ensure compliance with Florida regulations.
Repair or replace faucets, water filters, filtration systems, water softeners and RO systems.
Repair urinal and commode flushometers.
Repair or replace leaking water supply lines.
Replace above-floor sink drain lines and clear clogged drains using appropriate tools and techniques.
Install or replace water heaters as appropriate. Coordinate with a licensed plumber for installations or replacements that require permits or fall outside the technician's qualifications under Florida regulations.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance visits across all corporate stores, the R&D lab, and the Support Center.
Perform or coordinate light exterior maintenance such as pressure washing and small patch repairs (lawn maintenance remains with current vendors).
Light landscaping tasks such as spreading mulch.
Install, replace, and repair equipment and furniture including umbrellas, casters, test equipment, and patio furniture.
Install or replace medium-grade vinyl and signage (not requiring bucket truck or managerial-level work).
Inspect facilities during visits to identify existing conditions, proactive repair opportunities and safety issues.
Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and company standards.
Track, log, and close all work orders through the facilities ticketing system.
Maintain records of warranties, maintenance logs, and service histories.
Order and maintain inventory of tools, replacement parts, and supplies.
Identify when specialized vendor support is required; source, schedule, and oversee vendors on-site.
Coordinate and work with landlords on lease-covered repairs as needed.
Provide project support for small renovation, installation, or upgrade projects (e.g. Batch installs).
Support the Facilities Consultant and leadership team in developing and maintaining a facilities scorecard and preventive maintenance plan.
Adhere to defined spending limits and approval processes for repair and materials purchases.
Support cost-saving initiatives by extending equipment life, bundling work, and negotiating vendor rates.
Provide emergency response for facility incidents, including storm preparation and post-storm recovery (e.g., generator setup, water mitigation).
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial food service equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration (batch and dipping systems), HVAC diagnostics and repair, and restaurant equipment maintenance.
Basic knowledge of carpentry, flooring, painting, and light construction.
Familiarity with Florida contractor licensing requirements for HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical work.
Understanding of Florida Department of Health codes and OSHA safety standards for food establishments.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility ticketing systems.
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate across multiple locations.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Sheets, and basic digital work order tracking.
Self-directed, dependable, and able to manage priorities and travel schedules.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (auto allowance provided).
Certification with Taylor or ElectroFreeze equipment preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Get a glimpse of all you'll experience as an Executive Chef
EMBRACE THE MENU:
Adhere to the company's mandated F&B menu and purchasing programs
KEEP AN EYE ON THE NUMBERS:
Maintain budgeted revenue, costs of sales, labor, supplies, as well as operating cash flow as it relates to food operations; review monthly profit & loss statements and make adjustments as necessary
GET THE PARTY STARTED:
Work with the Operations team and Sales staff to plan, supervise, and execute for all events, supervising the preparation and service of all food and beverage (in addition to cleanup); assist with cooking when needed
PLAN LIKE A PRO:
Estimate food consumption and make purchases as appropriate from our specified food program; schedule staff efficiently to accommodate shifts in business volume
ASSEMBLE AN ALL-STAR TEAM:
Work with the center's management to recruit, hire, train, and retain a rock star kitchen staff. Develop key staff including sous chefs and lead cooks.
COMMIT TO QUALITY:
Ensure that our product quality, freshness, and presentation are always at company standard; supervise and oversee the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of all food
KEEP IT CLEAN:
Facilitate and manage all kitchen equipment maintenance and implement/conduct sanitation audits and cleaning schedules in order to comply with all local Department of Health (DOH) regulations. Any critical issues? Report them to the General Manager
WHO YOU ARE:
You're an experienced Executive Chef with a highly developed sense of customer service, great interpersonal/communication skills, and a high-level of profit and loss capability. You take accountability for your team (like any great leader) and your organizational skills are second to none. Our centers are fast-paced, high-volume retail environments that are as demanding to work in as they are rewarding. You'll be leading a team of lead cooks, cooks, dishwashers, and servers, and will report to and support your center's General Manager on all matters food-related. Experience prepping catered events or presenting food for other special events is desirable, but not essential.

5+ Years of Kitchen Management / Executive Chef Experience
Bachelor's or culinary degree preferred

This role functions as the central administrative hub for franchise documents, ensuring information accuracy, timely execution, and secure storage. Essential Functions
Prepare, route, track, and file franchise agreements, amendments, addendums, renewals, ownership transfers, and related documentation.
Review agreements for accuracy, required signatures, fees, and attachments.
Maintain secure version-controlled records of all executed documents.
Coordinate with external franchise counsel and internal contacts regarding clarifications, revisions, and document execution requirements.
Maintain accurate franchise and location records in CRM (FranConnect or similar) and shared data systems.
Conduct periodic compliance audits to ensure insurance certificates, agreements, and required documentation are current.
Monitor contract timelines and renewal triggers; notify internal stakeholders of deadlines and required actions.
Support ownership transfers, territory mapping, renewals, and new franchisee onboarding workflows.
Create and update territory documentation using Placer.ai or similar mapping tools.
Track prospective franchise candidates through the pipeline to ensure timely progress and accurate recordkeeping.
Facilitate communication among Franchise Sales, Operations, Legal, and Finance.
Prepare and distribute system-wide communications, including announcements, procedural updates, and documentation reminders.
Support Discovery Days and onboarding process preparation.
Maintain franchise system scorecards, dashboards, and development pipeline reporting; consolidate data across multiple platforms.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
3+ years of experience in a documentation-heavy role such as franchise coordination, paralegal/legal support, contract administration, or related field.
Experience working with legal documents, structured templates, or regulated agreements.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Qualifications and Experience
Required:

The Facilities Technician ensures all company-owned Jeremiahs Italian Ice locations and support facilities remain in excellent operating condition. This individual performs and manages repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment servicing across refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Acting as the primary hands-on field technician, this role focuses on executing work directly while reducing reliance on third-party vendors. The Facilities Technician will also collaborate with a Facilities Consultant to implement best practices, manage preventive maintenance schedules, and track work through a ticketing/log system.
This position is field-based, with regular travel primarily in the Orlando area, and occasional travel to Tampa and Jacksonville to service corporate stores, R&D, and the Support Center.
Essential Functions
Perform routine and emergency repairs on commercial refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Repair all plumbing & electrical fixtures including sinks, dipper wells, grease traps, and mixers.
Repair all refrigeration fixtures including ice cream & batch ice equipment, walk-in coolers, freezers, and standalone refrigerators.
Repair and replace doors, door locks, and hinges.
Repair floor tile, walls, and ceiling tiles.
Install shelves and perform miscellaneous carpentry work.
Perform interior and exterior painting as needed.
Perform minor repairs to asphalt (temporary/cold patch) and cement (grind/crack-fill/re-seal).
Conduct minor roof leak repairs.
Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including TV menu boards and related components. Coordinate with a licensed electrician for any work that requires permitting or involves circuit breaker replacement to ensure compliance with Florida regulations.
Repair or replace faucets, water filters, filtration systems, water softeners and RO systems.
Repair urinal and commode flushometers.
Repair or replace leaking water supply lines.
Replace above-floor sink drain lines and clear clogged drains using appropriate tools and techniques.
Install or replace water heaters as appropriate. Coordinate with a licensed plumber for installations or replacements that require permits or fall outside the technicians qualifications under Florida regulations.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance visits across all corporate stores, the R&D lab, and the Support Center.
Perform or coordinate light exterior maintenance such as pressure washing and small patch repairs (lawn maintenance remains with current vendors).
Light landscaping tasks such as spreading mulch.
Install, replace, and repair equipment and furniture including umbrellas, casters, test equipment, and patio furniture.
Install or replace medium-grade vinyl and signage (not requiring bucket truck or managerial-level work).
Inspect facilities during visits to identify existing conditions, proactive repair opportunities and safety issues.
Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and company standards.
Track, log, and close all work orders through the facilities ticketing system.
Maintain records of warranties, maintenance logs, and service histories.
Order and maintain inventory of tools, replacement parts, and supplies.
Identify when specialized vendor support is required; source, schedule, and oversee vendors on-site.
Coordinate and work with landlords on lease-covered repairs as needed.
Provide project support for small renovation, installation, or upgrade projects (e.g. Batch installs).
Support the Facilities Consultant and leadership team in developing and maintaining a facilities scorecard and preventive maintenance plan.
Adhere to defined spending limits and approval processes for repair and materials purchases.
Support cost-saving initiatives by extending equipment life, bundling work, and negotiating vendor rates.
Provide emergency response for facility incidents, including storm preparation and post-storm recovery (e.g., generator setup, water mitigation).
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 35 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial food service equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration (batch and dipping systems), HVAC diagnostics and repair, and restaurant equipment maintenance.
Basic knowledge of carpentry, flooring, painting, and light construction.
Familiarity with Florida contractor licensing requirements for HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical work.
Understanding of Florida Department of Health codes and OSHA safety standards for food establishments.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility ticketing systems.
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate across multiple locations.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Sheets, and basic digital work order tracking.
Self-directed, dependable, and able to manage priorities and travel schedules.
Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle (auto allowance provided).
Certification with Taylor or ElectroFreeze equipment preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site visits and repair work.
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
