About the role - Operations Supervisor (Winnemucca, Nevada)
We are excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for an Operations Supervisor within our Specialty Mining Chemicals team.
The Operations Supervisor will lead and drive all operational activities to ensure sustainable improvement of critical business processes, systems, and technology to improve overall operational goals. Working directly and indirectly with all levels of Orica employees and external stakeholders, the role will focus primarily on the overall management and tracking of all operational functions for both solutions and solids. Emphasis is placed on safety and health, protection of the environment and economics, converting raw materials into liquid sodium cyanide and solid cyanide, and ensuring timely shipments to the customers.
What you will be doing
Develop people and ensure that all team members are properly trained. Set up coaching/performance improvement plans and identify/implement development opportunities. Checking and reporting that all employees are properly trained.
Supervise, train, and develop subordinate staff in following standard operating procedures.
Advise senior management of issues and/or risks to operations or supply for effective risk management.
Supervise all day-to-day duties and activities of the specific team/process/substream.
Act as back-up for the Business Process Excellence Lead for follow-up meetings and reporting with GBS and Orica Management.
Manage specific team, ensure alignment, reporting, and communication, including appropriate workload allocation, implementation of appropriate backup systems, monitoring of volume and productivity.
Strategic Governance
Lead, drive, track, and manage the business operational duties, strategy, and framework for the site, and proactively drive the philosophy.
Process Design and Standardization
Lead, drive, track, and manage the overall process and SOP tasks across all operational activities.
Process Management and Improvement
Proactively work with Process Owners, Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other subject matter experts to analyze and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes.
Project Management
Lead, drive, track, and manage the timely execution and delivery of all operational duties.
Provide guidance to the operational task owners of the individual operational tasks to ensure each project meets the planned deliverables.
Handle overall reporting of shift results.
Data Analytics
Provide the Leadership Team with the information/analysis/recommendations/suggestions needed to make decisions about strategies and tasks related to operational efficiency and performance improvement.
Change Management
Work with Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other Orica Employees to deal with minor to complex scale organizational changes in their workstreams, analyze changes, and determine their impact on business processes.
Analyze overall operational tasks and workstream-specific action plans to introduce major or minor organizational changes with a minimum amount of disruption.
Lead, drive, track, and manage operational changes on a sitewide level.

Your qualifications
At least 5 years of relevant experience within process or manufacturing-specific teams, including 3 years of direct people management experience.
1-3 years of process management training and coaching experience.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and customer service oriented.
Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and good problem-solving skills.

Position Responsibilities:
Participate and/or leads in developing air vehicle requirements for aeroelasticity including flutter, divergence, freeplay and rigidity
Collaborate with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aero and structural models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment

BDS Sapphire is the common core system for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance subsystems that supports the BDS mission delivering a highly capable solution comprised of three core bedrocks to include Production Data Management (PDM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
This role will report to the Sapphire Chief Engineer and will lead Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) for the BDS Sapphire program - translating complex software subsystem requirements and business processes into a unified system architecture and verified, deployable solutions with IDT&S. The SEIT Leader is accountable for defining and verifying system-level requirements, maintaining end-to-end traceability, directing integration and verification planning, governing test execution from IPT unit testing through system and user acceptance testing, and ensuring the Sapphire solution meets standards for reliability, usability, and program objectives. This role requires cross-functional systems thinking, strong technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines, and demonstrated ability to manage SEIT tools, baselines, and verification evidence for milestone readiness.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the SEIT organization for Sapphire, providing technical direction, staffing, mentoring, and performance oversight of SEIT engineers.
Manage leaders across requirements, architecture, interfaces, and test to develop, maintain, and execute the SEIT verification & validation strategy, test plans, and verification matrices that demonstrate milestone readiness.
Manage a System Requirements team to develop system-level requirements; maintain end-to-end traceability across PDM, MES, ERP, and I&I.
Manage a System Architecture team to coordinate system architecture allocations and verification planning with IDT&S and other enterprise stakeholders; ensure alignment to program architecture and security requirements.
Manage a System Test team to plan and lead integration and system-level testing activities, including cross-IPT integration, ICD validation, smoke tests, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
Manage a Configuration and Data Management team to ensure configuration and baseline governance.
Collaborate with I&I IPT with business partners for interface and integrations SoW.
Operate and evolve SEIT toolchains to automate testing, requirements quality checks, traceability matrices, and evidence collection with digital technology for MBSE and modular open integrations for Sapphire program.
Lead teams to produce and present milestone gated evidence and readiness recommendations for program milestone reviews, TRB, CCB, etc.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks; maintain SEIT risk, issue, and opportunity registers and escalate per program governance.
Enable cross-functional collaboration: facilitate technical decision-making and governance alignment across engineering, program, product, and business stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement through metrics, lessons learned, and process iteration to raise quality and reduce rework.
Partner with PIO, IPT leads (MES, PDM, ERP, I&I, Delivery), and data governance to ensure integrated planning, schedule alignment, and traceable outcomes.
This position may require up to 20% travel.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in systems engineering, integration, and test for complex enterprise or aerospace programs.
Demonstrated experience leading SEIT teams, including managing engineers and mid-level managers across multiple engineering disciplines.
Strong knowledge of verification & validation practices, test planning/execution, defect lifecycle management, and configuration management.
Experience with PLM/MES/ERP integrations, middleware, ICDs, and digital thread concepts strongly preferred.
Familiarity with SEIT and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) toolchains (requirements management, architecture development, interface definition, automated testing, traceability tools).
Strong analytical, risk management, and process measurement skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to present technical results and readiness recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience coordinating with IT security (IDT&S) and applying security/compliance constraints into verification plans.

Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

Position will start in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Personnel will be assisting all areas from Logistics to production/manufacturing until Training begins. Deployment is currently scheduled for November/December (2023).
This requisition covers Levels 1/2/Shift Lead/Site Lead. If you are interviewed, a determination on which level you are best suited for, will be determined after review.
Once deployed, this position will spend a minimum of 6 months in Saudi Arabia.
Primary areas of responsibility:
Perform a wide range of technician tasks to include using standard mechanical and electrical hand tools, mechanical disassembly/assembly, wiring, soldering, operating standard and unique test equipment, fabricating aerostat lines, repairing aerostat fabric and handling high-pressure gases
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical structures, aerostat structures, hydraulic systems, fiber optic components, avionics and electrical components
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair ground systems such as generators, communication and weather systems
Flight Crew Member (pre/post flight, launch/recovery, helium toppings, snubbing, inflations/ deflations, tether inspections, proficiency in all emergency procedures for both moored and airborne flight aerostat operations)
Read and understand schematics, technical drawings and engineering data and reports
Maintain and understand site documentation such as parts request forms, equipment condition tags, time cards, and flight data and maintenance logs
Calibrate all site and test equipment as required
Operate general purpose and special purpose vehicles to include man lift operations to heights of 150 feet
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent, plus formal technical training (via military or civilian technical schools).
Deployment Requirements: Candidate must be willing to work and live in U.S. Military Bases and at remote site locations with very sparse accommodations. Overseas locations will be near areas of potential conflicts/hostilities. Candidate must meet all physical, medical, and other requirements for overseas deployment by current DOD regulations.
Level 1 Operator requirements: Must check at least one box:
Electronic Maintenance candidates with an in-depth background with radar, ISR, EW, communication, avionics repair, and troubleshooting.
ISR operators with an in-depth background with airborne or ground data collection and dissemination.
Information technology candidates with Network Installation (BICSI or Network+ or Comp T Certification); The preferred qualifications for the IT position is certification as CCIE with fiber optic certification or industry occupational specialties as a CISCO Network Administrator.
Mechanical Maintenance candidates with experience repair and troubleshooting diesel generators and or vehicles, automotive engines, hydraulics and or aircraft mechanical background is highly desired.
To be qualified to be a Level 2 Operator requirements:
You must have 3-4 years of experience in the Level 1 criteria.

DMS is seeking Armorer / Site Lead (OBMLS Specialist III/Site Lead) who will supervise and perform armory personnel who provide support for classroom and field laboratory instruction for U.S. Navy high-risk training evolutions.
The Armorer/Site Lead performs supervision and training support duties associated with the delivery of small arms and crew served weapons training. The Armorer/Site Lead supervises and trains Armorers, Armorer/EMTs, and AA&E Range Technicians. The Armorer/Site Lead has a thorough understanding of maintenance and logistical tasks performed by subordinates and of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) safety, security, and accountability regulations and programs. They assign and monitor small arms, weapons, weapon mounts, Visual Augmentation Systems (VAS), training facilities, Training Unique Equipment (TUE) and Small Arms Weapons Simulators (SAWS) maintenance and review records to analyze maintenance trends. The Armorer/Site Lead regularly reports the material condition and accountability status of AA&E, VAS, SAWS, and other controlled inventory items to Activity Leadership and advises Activity Leadership to resolve identified discrepancies. The Armorer/Site Lead accounts for ammunition and explosives (AE) in the official record including the requisition, issue, receipt, expenditure, and disposition of assets via computer-based applications. They provide oversight of an AE qualifications and certification (QUAL/CERT) program and serve as an AE QUAL/CERT board member or advisor. The Armorer/Site Lead generates technical correspondence including, but not limited to, AE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Conventional Ordnance Deficiency Reports (CODRs), Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs), Explosive Event Reports (EERs), Explosive Mishaps Reports (EMRs), Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) and Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Reports (TMDERs), and can coordinate service contracts pertaining to facilities and equipment to which they are assigned. The duties and attributes include:
· Possess a total of nine (9) years or more of related experience.
· A minimum of six (6) years of preventative/corrective weapons maintenance experience (including military crew served weapons, where applicable), and a minimum of three (3) years' experience within an ammunition and weapons management environment.
· Knowledge on Navy Antiterrorism/Navy Security Force (AT/NSF) and Expeditionary Warfare related programs and courses of instruction
· Comprehensive knowledge of applicable Department of Defense (DOD) and Navy directives/programs relating to AT/NSF, small arms training, and technical training equipment
· In-depth knowledge of Allowable Equipment Lists (AEL) and formal course Resource Requirements List (RRL) that support AT/NSF initial and sustainment training
· Basic knowledge of marksmanship principles/concepts as applied to small arms, operation and maintenance of small arms, and small arms handling and employment techniques.
· In-depth knowledge of the Department of the Navy's AT/NSF mission, program objectives and relevant regulatory requirements, and Fleet/Training Command training organizations, especially those involved in AT/NSF.
