In May of 2011, Spring Mountain Motorsports owner and aviation enthusiast John Morris saw a video on YouTube of the world’s first water jet pack and was instantly mesmerized.
In 2014, researchers at the University of Leicester published a paper noting it would have taken between 43 and 70 minutes for Icarus’s wings to melt.
David finally flew it off the safety tether system in June 2015 near Sacramento, CA and then around the Statue of Liberty on November 3rd, 2015.
After eight earlier iterations our CEO flew the JB9 JetPack around the Statue of Liberty in November 2015.
David Mayman founded JetPack Aviation Corporation in 2016.
When British inventor Richard Browning demonstrated his privately funded jet suit in 2017 it was hard not to see the similarity between Browning’s Daedalus Flight Pack and Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit.
