    Job Description The Childcare Attendant is responsible for providing attentive care to infants and children of members utilizing the Fitness & Wellness facility. The ideal candidate is nurturing, energetic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Hours: M-F 7:45AM - 12:30PM; M-F 4:45PM - 8:15PM; Sat/Sun 8:00AM - 12:00PM Job Responsibilities: Provide direct care and supervision to infants and children in a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment. Design and implement engaging play activities that support children's physical, emotional, and social development. Interact warmly and positively with children, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both children and their families. Maintain accurate attendance records for all children in the program. Ensure all health and safety protocols issued by the JCC and local/state health authorities are followed. Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents and guardians to ensure trust and transparency. Ensure all toys, supplies, and equipment are effectively used, maintained, and stored, including daily sanitization of all items and touch points utilized in the babysitting space. Report any unclean conditions, safety hazards, or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate staff or maintenance personnel. Promote the values and programs of the Fitness and Wellness Department and collaborate with other JCC departments to enhance the overall member experience. Represent the Katz JCC in a positive and professional manner to members, guests, and the public. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the evolving needs of the Fitness and Wellness Department. Act as a liaison between staff and JCC Executive Directors. Maintain professional, open communication with families. Collaborate with JCC departments and partners to strengthen family programming. Manage sensitive child matters with discretion and teamwork. Work with the Early Childhood committee and Board to support program goals and outreach. Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, staffing ratios, documentation, student records and supervision. Manage classroom supplies, food, and cleaning needs. Ensure full compliance with licensing and safety standards through regular audits. Develop and manage the program budget with leadership. Drive full enrollment through retention, outreach, and planning. Partner with marketing on Early Childhood outreach strategy. Model professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful communication. Participate in meetings, events, and professional development. Required Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Child Development Associate (CDA) certification. Appropriate state licensure. CPR and first aid certifications. Required Education & Experience: Master's degree in education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. Minimum of five years of experience working with union negotiations, discussions and reaching agreements on issues like staff wages, benefits, working hours and other employment conditions while considering the needs of both the staff and the organization's financial limitations while representing the management side of the Early Childhood program. Five years of experience in administration, including knowledge of State licensing requirements and Head Start Performance Standards. Five years of management and/or leadership experience overseeing an Early Childhood program. Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written. Significant diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle highly stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner. Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.     Job Description Job Title: Direct Support Professional/One-on-One Reports to: Residential Manager Primary Responsibilities: To use best practices and technology within a community based residential setting to teach individuals with I/DD and behavioral challenges, how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills needed to live as independently as possible. This position will be utilized as a direct support one-on-one staff which will be assigned to a specific resident to support their one-on-one needs. This position does have the option to work in schedule as a Direct Support Professional without a one-on-one assignment when additional hours are available. If a hired Direct Support Professional/One-on-One staff works in shift without a one-on-one assignment, that employee will be paid the rate of a DSP employee. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Provide one-on-one behavioral and direct care support to individuals in a residential and community setting. 2. Collect and record data on a individual's behavior as stated in their behavior intervention plan. 3. Provide crisis intervention as needed and follow agency approved training program curriculum. 4. Provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals in their home and community. 5. Collaborate with individuals care team to carry out their treatment and behavior intervention plan and assist with day-to-day tasks to ensure health and overall well-being of individuals. 6. Assist with the development of independence skills based on the need of each individual. 7. Assists to the extent needed by the individual in all daily living skills. 8. Advocates for the individual including fostering healthy relationships with peers and staff. 9. Communicate effectively and efficiently with guardians, parents and support personnel based on the needs of the individuals. 10. Administers medication and completes documentation of same. 11. Transports individuals to and from medical appointments and documents all information from appointments. 12. Assists the individuals in developing a support network within the community. 13. Assists individuals with identifying and/or accompanying them to social and recreational activities within the community. 14. As needed, will transport individuals to appointments, shopping and other activities 15. Accurately completes all mandatory in-house documentation. 16. Participates in IDT meetings for personal future planning as requested. 17. Completes all duties as delegated by the Residential Manager/Director, Residential Services. 18. Must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training. 19. Perform any additional job duties as requested by supervisor. 20. Will cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent required. Prefer associate degree or higher or high school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years' experience working with people with developmental disabilities. • Must have a Driver's license valid in the state of New Jersey. Employee's driving abstract must not exceed five (5) points. • Proven work experience as a Behavior Technician or similar role. • Successfully complete agency training program prior to providing one-on-one care, to effectively and safely provide evidence-based interventions. • Must remain up to date with all training and certifications required for a Behavior Technician. • Shall be at least 18 years of age or older. • Ability to communicate effectively with written and oral language. • Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire. • Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities • Shall submit to drug testing and receive a clear drug screen prior to employment per Stephen Komninos Law. • Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause. • Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI). • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and has the ability to problem solve with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. • Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation. • Fully vaccinated for Covid -19 based on CDC requirements and DHS requirements.
