    Part-time Description Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Technician II is primarily responsible for executing operational and facilities responsibilities, as well as performing light maintenance work. Candidates could expect to work around 24 hours per week, with options to pick up additional hours. Candidates should expect to work on Saturday and Sunday from 6am - 6pm. Responsibilities: Assist with the day-to-day operations of the B&G dept in relation to staffing, maintenance, operations and cleaning as needed. Ensure execution of policies and document the policies and procedures of the B&G team. Properly set up and breakdown room for all internal J programs and outside rentals. Responsible for the physical arrangements in buildings and on grounds for performances such as concerts, lectures, athletic events, etc. Provide support, direction and supervision to internal staff and temporary staff as needed. Be available and responsive to support building wide events and emergencies, including evenings and weekends. Complete work assignments in a timely manner and as expected. Make periodic reports of jobs accomplished. Ensure Safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, state and federal guidelines. Direct movement of department equipment Visually inspect work, buildings and equipment Alert supervisor of any unusual occurrences, damage that has taken place and work that needs to be completed. Responsible for traffic and parking in connection with functions at the J. Assist with laundry and cleaning as needed Collection of Recyclables throughout the building. Clean the whirlpools twice a week. Repair and install locks in locker rooms Other Light maintenance as required. Deliver package from back to various departments in the building. Set up, take down and clean classroom as necessary. Follow all Missouri licensure and JCC guidelines in the course of your work.     Full-time Description The Director of Literary Arts is responsible for overseeing all aspects of planning, development, and implementation of the week-long St. Louis Jewish Book Festival and Speaker Series (JBF) in November, other author/booking events connected to the festival throughout the year, as well as the Winter and Summer Used Book Sales. JBF responsibilities include author/talent selection and booking, budget development and meeting of budget goals, securing funds from current and potential individual and corporate donors, overseeing a large volunteer committee and working with J marketing team to promote, outreach, and grow audiences. Used Book Sale responsibilities include recruiting and managing volunteer sorters throughout the year, implementing 6 day Used Book sale each August and January, and marketing the program. Responsibilities: Conduct author searches, including negotiation & selection in coordination with Jewish Book Council and independent publishers. Schedule & coordinate author presentations including arrangement of travel to and from St. Louis and creation of festival events & elements. Oversee media relations, PR & publicity for all assigned programs and events, including writing of Festival brochure and press releases in collaboration with J Marketing Department. Working collaboratively with J Development Staff to recruit, solicit, and retain festival sponsors and co-sponsors, inclusive of in-kind donations as appropriate. Recruit, retain, and manage Festival volunteer planning committee. Maintain accurate data bases of committees and subcommittee members, patrons, sponsors, and co-sponsors. Manage the Jewish Book Festival Store including ordering books from local independent bookstore, local authors, and setting up systems for book sales and bookstore volunteers. Work closely with J Marketing Department to develop and implement sales/marketing operating initiatives and budgets. Develop the budgets for the programs and monitor progress monthly as a part of annual goals for program. Ensure excellent customer service and customer responsiveness to both inside and outside customers. Understand and be committed to the mission and vision of the Jewish Community Center. Be knowledgeable about the J and its programs. Be an advocate for the J and its programs and staff. Participate in and promote both programs and events. Develop and ensure effective collaboration with relevant Jewish and general community organizations and with other staff throughout the J. We are hiring for Operations Specialist to join our team to work in our facilities both in Creve Coeur and Chesterfield. This is a full-time, hourly position. Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator proactively collaborates across departments to create and implement strategies to ensure the buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest standard. Responsibilities include the oversight, maintenance, and repair of equipment, grounds, buildings, and structures. The Coordinator works in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to direct the work of maintenance staff and contractors while ensuring timely completion of requests. The Coordinator will be rotate between the Staenberg Family Complex and our Marilyn Fox Campus when needed. Regular work hours will be evenings. This may vary with advanced notice. Responsibilities: Perform cost effective daily maintenance and preventative maintenance. This includes all pool, heating and air conditioning equipment, and managing the department work order computer system as well as the agency computerized HVAC control systems. Assign, direct, coordinate and be responsible for the work of all team members to achieve goals while supporting their training and development with ongoing feedback either directly or through the lead employees as the case may require during the evening shifts. Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to develop, document, and execute the policies and procedures of the Maintenance team. Support the continual improvement of internal processes, ongoing updating of policies and procedures and evaluation of the effectiveness of departmental goals against projected outcomes and timelines while responding to current trends and opportunities. Be available and responsive for building wide events and emergencies, including evenings and weekends. Requirements Qualifications: Five years of experience in construction and maintenance of industrial, public, or institutional buildings, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Three to five years of experience in electrical (110, 220, 440), plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair are required. High School Diploma/GED required; Related College or Technical degree preferred. Current MO Class E Chauffeurs license is required for use of Agency vehicles. Must obtain within 30 days of employment if do not currently have. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred. If not, will train within 90 days. Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. We are hiring for Operations Specialist to join our team to work in our facilities both in Creve Coeur and Chesterfield. This is a full-time, hourly position. Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator proactively collaborates across departments to create and implement strategies to ensure the buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest standard. Responsibilities include the oversight, maintenance, and repair of equipment, grounds, buildings, and structures. The Coordinator works in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to direct the work of maintenance staff and contractors while ensuring timely completion of requests. The Coordinator will be rotate between the Staenberg Family Complex and our Marilyn Fox Campus when needed. Regular work hours will be evenings. This may vary with advanced notice. Responsibilities: Perform cost effective daily maintenance and preventative maintenance. This includes all pool, heating and air conditioning equipment, and managing the department work order computer system as well as the agency computerized HVAC control systems. Assign, direct, coordinate and be responsible for the work of all team members to achieve goals while supporting their training and development with ongoing feedback either directly or through the lead employees as the case may require during the evening shifts. Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to develop, document, and execute the policies and procedures of the Maintenance team. Support the continual improvement of internal processes, ongoing updating of policies and procedures and evaluation of the effectiveness of departmental goals against projected outcomes and timelines while responding to current trends and opportunities. Be available and responsive for building wide events and emergencies, including evenings and weekends. Requirements: Qualifications: Five years of experience in construction and maintenance of industrial, public, or institutional buildings, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Three to five years of experience in electrical (110, 220, 440), plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair are required. High School Diploma/GED required; Related College or Technical degree preferred. Current MO Class E Chauffeurs license is required for use of Agency vehicles. Must obtain within 30 days of employment if do not currently have. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred. If not, will train within 90 days. Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to be approachable while also holding people accountable. Ability to effectively collaborate across departments and with external customers and vendors. Flexible schedule to allow for weekend and evening work is required. Prior experience as a lifeguard with demonstrated knowledge of and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques is required.
