Job Details Meadowlands Area YMCA - East Rutherford, NJ Part Time $16.00 Service Worker Description Millions of children and adults have begun their swimming journey at the YMCA. It is our mission to help them build confidence with every stroke and to provide a safe and secure environment. As a member of the Meadowlands YMCA aquatics team you will take on the invaluable role of protecting our swimmers. POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Instructor spots are available for both group and private lessons. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
