JF Ingram State Technical College serves the citizens of Alabama by offering accessible, responsive, and quality post-secondary career and technical education to incarcerated men and women, helping them to successfully return to their families and communities. The College offers its students opportunities to acquire skills in twenty-one different career/technical areas. It also helps prepare students for success by delivering adult education programs in Alabama Department of Corrections institutions state-wide. J.F. Ingram State Technical College is a multi-purpose institution which provides instruction in numerous vocational and academic areas leading to traditional technical college certificates, diplomas, and Associate of Applied Technology Degrees (AAT). In addition, students have opportunities to improve in the basic skills of communications (reading and language skills) and mathematics. Ingram State Technical College also serves as an official General Education Development (GED) test center. In an effort to enhance the further advancement of our students, the College has developed a comprehensive placement service. Flexible modes of instruction, competency-based course guidelines, computer-assisted instruction, and many more innovations have aided in maintaining Ingram's outstanding reputation among the nation's best in correctional education. We have implemented an extensive professional development program for all staff, faculty, and administrators to insure the highest quality services possible in all areas of the College. This program provides for individual professional growth, nurtures employee morale, and contributes to the stability of an outstanding educational institution. We continually strive to be more responsive to the changing needs, problems, and requirements of both our students and the society in which we all live. As we welcome the opportunity to serve, we also encourage all students to accept the responsibility inherent in the instructional process. Together, our efforts will allow the greatest possible personal growth and development for everyone.
