Abhishek Bhasin

Chief Operating & Finance Officer

Mr. Bhasin has over 25 years experience in financial and operational management, risk assessment, and process improvement. In his role as COO/CFO, Mr. Bhasin is a strategic partner to Jhpiego’s President & CEO. He has a proven record of identifying opportunities for improvement, developing management consensus and support for implementing changes. He provides leadership and management over Jhpiego operational, financial, human resources and information technology processes, providing a strong foundation from which Jhpiego can achieve its organizational goals. He also serves as the Jhpiego Divisional Business Officer (DBO) collaborating with other Johns Hopkins University leaders and ensuring alignment with university-related initiatives including those related to risk management. Prior to joining Jhpiego, Mr. Bhasin was the Senior Vice President & CFO of Global Communities where he led and managed the organization’s operational, financial and information technology departments. Prior to his departure he led the negotiations for Global Communities merger with Project Concern International.

Bernadette Channer

Chief Human Resources & Administrative Officer

Bernadette Channer, Chief Human Resources and Administrative Officer, leads the strategic development and implementation of global human resources, field operations, security and travel management functions at Jhpiego. As a member of the senior management team, she exercises a prominent role in influencing organizational objectives, strategy and operations with respect to the utilization of human resources for Jhpiego’s headquarters and more than 30 country offices.

Originally from South Africa, Ms. Channer has over 24 years of global human resource experience, of which more than 20 have been in a management and leadership capacity, bringing extensive experience implementing proven solutions in employee recruitment and retention, talent development, mediation, conflict resolution, benefits and compensation, policy development and legal compliance. She has also lead human resource teams in Latin America, West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining Jhpiego, Ms. Channer led human resource offices at numerous international organizations, including serving as Chief Human Resources Officer and Global Human Resources Director for IntraHealth. There, she spearheaded a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce that activated positive change within the organization. Other international organizations where she has worked include Management Sciences for Health, DAI and ECI Africa. Her background is in education and training, and she obtained her EDTP degree from City & Guilds of London. Ms. Channer was a 2012 finalist for the Human Resources Leadership for Greater Washington Awards for her leadership in corporate social responsibility and her contribution to ethical behavior and practices.

Daren Trudeau is a global health professional with almost two decades of experience living and working in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Most recently, as the Deputy Country Director for Jhpiego (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University) in Mozambique, Daren oversaw technical, operational, and strategic activities on projects funded by USAID, CDC, and DOD.

Daren has worked on donor-funded health system strengthening, HIV/AIDS, maternal/child health, and family planning projects with IntraHealth International in North Carolina, St. Francis Xavier University’s Coady Institute in Nova Scotia, Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and the Queen’s University Family Medicine Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Daren has demonstrated excellence in a range of areas including project administration, capacity building, advocacy, behavior change communication, monitoring and evaluation, use of research to inform policy, m-health, and geographic information systems (GIS).
