Eligible candidates are required to live in the Topeka/Manhattan, KS area. This job handles insurance claims in the field under general supervision through the life-cycle of a claim including but not limited to: investigation, evaluation, and claim resolution. This job provides service to agents, insureds, and others to ensure claims resolve accurately and timely. This job requires mastery of claims handling skills and requires the person to:
Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability
Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory with an emphasis on property claims
Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements and forms
Work toward the resolution of claims, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary
Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner
Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site investigations
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims
A minimum of 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims with an emphasis on property claims
Field claims handling experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge of Xactimate software is preferred but not required

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing moderate to complex Texas Workers' Compensation claims from inception to close, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate excellent customer service abilities. This role requires an active TX Adjuster's License and thorough understanding of Texas Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.

Manage a pending of 85 - 105 to include some litigated files.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Loss Control Consultant. The position requires the person to:
* Delivery of high quality multi-line risk evaluations and loss analysis of exposures and controls related to Workers' Compensation, Property, Inland Marine, Umbrella, Builders' Risk, Products/Completed Operations, Commercial Auto, Garage Liability/Dealer's Blanket and General Liability.
* Have a team-based approach working with other internal associates and departments, as well as our agency partners, to provide effective risk improvement consultations to Commercial policyholders that positively influence loss ratios, relationships, profitable new business growth and account retention.
* Deliver collaborative, consultative-based Loss Control services that provide value and solutions to policyholders while working with them to move service issues forward and improve the account's loss exposures and performance and overall cost of risk.
* Conduct on-site visits of existing and prospective policyholders and complete comprehensive survey reports to evaluate operations, exposures and controls and provide an overall assessment for adequate risk selection, pricing and application of techniques for profitable Underwriting results.
* Complete value-based correspondence to summarize visit activities that includes solutions-based discussion and development of meaningful recommendations to minimize policyholder exposure to loss.
* Act as a technical resource for Underwriters, other internal departments, agency partners and policyholders. Assist policyholders with identifying exposures and implementing effective controls to minimize risk.
* Provide value-added services to assist in overall policyholder risk reduction strategies such as effective safety culture implementation, risk identification, program development assistance, safety training, resource assistance and loss analysis evaluation.
* Market Loss Control department and Auto-Owners competitive differentiation to policyholders and agency partners with a focus on building positive and lasting relationships to bring in and retain profitable business.
* Assist in the evolution of the Auto-Owners Loss Control Department by contributing technical skills and knowledge, expertise, ideas and working on projects to assist in achieving our vision. Mentor, coach and train new and less experienced Loss Control associates.

* Possessing relevant designations such as ALCM, OHST, ARM, CFPS, CIH, ASP and/or CSP

Our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Production Underwriter to support the continued growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned commercial underwriting professional who excels in evaluating complex risks, contributing to strategic initiatives, and collaborating across teams to drive underwriting excellence. This is a fully remote position but the client is seeking a candidate to reside in state of Maryland. Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite and manage a book of complex Commercial Lines accounts, including Habitational, Workers' Compensation, and Commercial Umbrella, in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
Contribute to underwriting strategy and provide insights to support product development and multi-state expansion efforts.
Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for junior underwriters and cross-functional teams on challenging risks and underwriting practices.
Participate in file reviews, audits, and special projects to support process improvement and operational consistency.
Collaborate with agents and brokers to build and strengthen partnerships, including occasional field visits or conference participation.
Ensure underwriting files are thorough, well-documented, and compliant with all applicable regulations and internal standards.
Qualifications:
5-10+ years of commercial underwriting experience across multiple lines of business.
Strong technical knowledge of multi-state underwriting; experience in product development is a plus.
Proven ability to independently assess and price complex risks with sound judgment.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with agents, brokers, and internal teams.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a commitment to underwriting quality and consistency.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Salary/Benefits:
$120,000 to $140,000 annual base salary (depending on experience), plus 20-40% annual bonus
