Child life specialists are uniquely trained pediatric healthcare professionals that provide developmentally appropriate care to meet the individualized needs of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Child life specialists collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the needs of each patient through developing and implementing interventions to help patients and their families cope with their hospital experience. The use of developmentally appropriate play and therapeutic activities allows for psychosocial development and normalization of the hospital environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrates developmentally appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to assess and interact with a diverse population of pediatric patients and their families.
Designs and implements individual interventions based on assessment of a patient's development, coping style, diagnosis/ treatment, and psychosocial supports.
Uses medical play and developmentally appropriate language and teaching tools to ensure adequate preparation for medical interventions and encourage understanding and mastery of diagnosis, medical care and experiences.
Uses therapeutic/diversional techniques to support patients during treatments and procedures.
Provides developmentally appropriate play and activities to support normal growth and development.
Communicates pertinent information concerning patient care at appropriate rounds, with the multidisciplinary team and documentation in patient's' medical record.
Provides bereavement resources and memory making throughout hospital including but not limited to: pediatric units, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric and adult emergency departments, and adult intensive care units.
Provides support and activities to developmentally delayed patients on adult units
Supports in-hospital/ home tutoring services that reduce loss of educational ground
Coordinate and manage on-going practicum students and volunteer program. Volunteer program includes pediatric orientation, schedule management, delegated tasks, and managing playroom.
Planning and facilitating community and holiday events.
Assess and coordinate all donations for pediatrics from the community. Assist public relations and the Albany Med Foundation with hospital tours, check presentations and fundraisers.
Maintains playroom utilized by a diverse pediatric population.
Completes consultations for the children of adult patients at AMC upon request.
Participates in unit-based and hospital-wide committees, projects, educational activities, and special events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Child Life, Child Development or related field - required
Master's Degree Child Life, Child Development or related field - preferred
600-hour Child Life internship under the direct supervision of a certified Child Life Specialist - required
One year experience in hospital setting - preferred
Possess the ability to support and work effectively in a family-centered care pediatric unit.
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrates understanding of and sensitivity to the emotional, psycho-social, developmental, and intellectual needs of pediatric patients and their families.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor the CASAC-T Counselor will provide counseling services in integrated outpatient program. The CASAC-T Counselor provides comprehensive assessment services to clients who may have substance use and mental health barriers to employment by applying clinical judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and level of care. This includes performing SUD diagnostic screening, assessment, evaluation, orientation, treatment planning, case management, counseling, intervention, crisis intervention, patient education, reporting and record keeping in both individual and group counseling settings. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS
Intervention and employing a range of treatment modalities to include person centered evidence-based treatment approaches to include but not limited to motivational interviewing, stages of change, trauma informed care, anger management, medication assisted treatment, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and contingency management.
Ability to perform SUD and mental health screenings and intakes, orientation, SUD assessment, SUD diagnostic Impression, level of care as determined by LOCADTR, treatment planning, individual/group counseling, family interventions, psychoeducation, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reporting and recordkeeping, care coordination and administrative supervision with regular supervision.

Develops and conducts group and individual counseling on a regular scheduled basis to caseload clients within the integrated outpatient program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of US federal and state privacy and data protection laws and regulations.

- Participate in the breach notification process with internal and external stakeholders with support from management.
- Review proposals and contract actions processed for the company prior to signature or negotiation and ensure that all factors have been considered and all necessary information has been gathered, with minimal oversight.
- Manage and respond to data subject requests with minimal oversight.
- Periodically create, review, and/or revise functional area documentation and project-specific templates and other documents with minimal oversight.
- Conduct on-site and virtual project privacy audits to determine privacy compliance with support from senior management.
- Identify and implement efficient methods for assessing privacy and data protection incidents and identifying and mitigating privacy risks in proposals and contracts.
- Draft and review documents including Business Associate Agreements, Data Protection Addendum, and other contract types for privacy compliance with support from management.
- Develop and provide privacy and data protection training for internal stakeholders with support from management.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on privacy- and data protection-related inquiries with support from management.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to one or more State Bars is required.
- 0-3 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Current IAPP certification (required within 6 months of hire).
-1+ years of privacy experience in a corporate, legal or educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Privacy Act, GLBA, FCRA, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, DPDP, state consumer privacy rights laws, and state breach notification laws).

JOB OVERVIEW
The counselor supports the campers throughout the day, leading activities, coaching performances, and serving as an assistant to lead counselors. This is an ideal position for a student of educational theatre or an early professional. A background in musical theatre and education is essential. Especially seeking those with a background as a camp counselor. Other duties as a camp counselor will be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Counselor in KidsAct! And TeensAct! Camps. Assist in classroom management, leading activities, assistant directing, running warm-ups, and other tasks assigned by the lead teacher.
Assistant direct shows for the camp
Lead warm-ups, games, and activities for campers
Assist in pulling costumes and props for the culminating show
Assist in recording the original script and creation of the show program
Assist in attendance and communication with caretakers
Coach students in performance skills
Choreograph and stage scenes/ musical numbers as needed
Develop responsive plans to assist students with performance skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work in a camp setting
Strong collaborator and team player
Excellent communication skills across various platforms
Open to feedback and coaching
Ability to adapt to the needs of students and center student experience and outcomes at camp
Especially seeking experience in improvisation, devising, musical theater/ direction or performance, choreography skills
