Job Description The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. Our free, confidential and voluntary, 13-bed shelter serves youth, 12-17 years old, for up to 30 days. Counselors provide nonjudgmental, individualized support to help youth reunite with their families or find alternative, stable housing. Schedule: Part time. Sunday 2pm-9:30pm, Monday 8am-4pm, Friday 7:30am-3pm, Saturday 3pm-9:30pm *When possible, attend group supervisions on Wednesdays from noon-1pm. Responsibilities: Supervision of: wake-up, clean-up, daily chores and bedtime Distribution of medications and appropriate documentation Liaison with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support (Counseling) teams Individual counseling and mentoring After-hour response, assessment and intake of youth in need Development and supervision of social, cultural and recreational activities Crisis/conflict/prevention/intervention, response and intervention Maintenance of accurate and timely program records Maintenance of facility and grounds Daily meal planning and preparation Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field AND 1-2 years' experience in a residential youth program OR Equivalent A valid Driver's license Skills: Counseling approaches and techniques Crisis prevention Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
