    Job Description $1000 Hiring Bonus The Evening Triage Counselor is responsible for providing crisis counseling and responsive care for youth ages 12-21 seeking Center services (Including Counseling, Emergency Housing and Transitional Living) during the hours of Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The Counselor completes a comprehensive assessment that identifies immediate needs as well as longer term developmental and/or treatment needs. This assessment includes identifying any issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling and other risk factors that inhibit healthy youth development. An initial Individualized Service Plan is developed based upon the assessment and goals identified by the youth, including appropriate prevention activities. This position also provides crisis counseling for families, information dissemination and referral services, as needed. The Evening Triage Counselor handles crisis phone calls, as well as walk-in clients seeking assistance. The Counselor is additionally responsible for providing community outreach and networking with other agencies/providers to coordinate services for their clients. Additionally, the Evening Triage Counselor will provide supervision, mentoring and support to Volunteer Phone Counselors. The Evening Triage Counselor will conduct training for new Volunteer Phone Counselors as well as group meetings for all the Volunteers Phone Counselors. This is a full-time, 12-month position. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Deliver IECMH-focused trainings, including IMH: Theory to Practice, Trauma-Informed Care, Reflective Supervision/Consultation, IECMH foundations, and DC:0-5 (if certified) Provide consultation that builds IECMH competencies within programs and organizations, including group reflective consultation and collaborative work with community professionals and family partners Conduct discipline-specific needs assessments to inform training and consultation plans Customize training content, consultation services, and strategic planning efforts to meet the needs of agencies and systems Facilitate trauma-informed, culturally responsive relationships through all IECMH-related trainings and consultations Lead reflective consultation groups aligned with endorsement or licensure level Maintain understanding of child-serving systems and assess emerging IECMH needs across those systems Complete monthly statistics, documentation, and attendance records using Comet, Office 365, and related platforms Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or master's degree in a human services discipline preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education Strong understanding of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) and Reflective Supervision/Consultation (RSC) Demonstrated high reflective capacity and commitment to relationship-based, trauma-informed practice grounded in cultural humility and responsiveness NYS-AIMH Endorsement required within 12 months of hire and maintained thereafter Skilled in group facilitation with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships Interest, passion, and/or experience working with infants and young children (0-6 years) from an IECMH perspective WORKING AT SPCC: SPCC is committed to providing a trauma-informed, supportive, and inclusive work environment.
