This position would work in support of On Demand Events, Surges, Summer Camps, and Backfills supporting the MFLC program. The Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) will provide coverage in short-term, surge and on demand situations resulting from the Military needs such as a post-deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. The Summer ARC counselor position covers assignments during the May 15th through September 15th time period, coinciding with the school summer break. With minimal guidance and oversight, provides the full breadth of Adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. These services may include non- medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child daycare centers and schools, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting military personnel and their family members. Full-time Description MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES 1. Conducts clinical assessments of youth and young adults in the crisis program. 2. Participates in direct supervision of youth. 3. Provides engagement and support to youth/families participating in the Crisis program and calling in for support. 4. Assists in developing and implementing the Individual Crisis Plan for both mental health and independent living goals. 5. Creates safety and behavioral plans with clients as needed. 6. Maintains contact with guardians, children services and other support providers throughout client's stay in the shelter. 7. Completes individual mental health interventions, psychoeducational, life-skill and family sessions. 8. Completes accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress notes, case updates and client discharges to ensure continuity of care and coordination with other crisis staff. 9. Provides follow-up/aftercare support to client either via phone or in person after discharge to support follow-through of discharge plan and ensure linkage to community resources 10. Meets productivity standards relative to shelter census. 11. Makes referrals and recommendations in preparation for client discharge. 12. Fully documents assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans and case notes according to agency and professional standards. 13. Functions as an advocate for youth and families with Children Services, courts and other community agencies. 14. Attends client reviews to update treatment plans and ensure compliance with standards. 15. Attends weekly individual and group supervision, team meetings and required or recommended trainings as assigned by the clinical director. 16. Transports clients in agency-owned or personal vehicle as needed. 17. Serves on an agency committee. 19. Participates in agency on call rotation. 20. Completes other duties as assigned. ACE Wellness Centers Behavioral Health program provides individualized, holistic care planning and management to youth, families, and adults in their schools, homes, and communities. The Qualified Mental Health Specialist/Group Facilitator (QMHS) is plays a crucial role in leading and coordinating therapeutic activities within a day treatment setting for youth dealing with behavioral health challenges. QMHS provides community-based services, as well as telehealth services, that encourage and support progress towards meeting client goals. The QMHS coordinates and provides care, reinforcement, praise, and support that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, and client centered. Additionally, the QMHS will coordinate and work with a licensed clinician to provide Community Psychiatric Therapy Services (CPST), and Therapeutic Behavioral Services as need. Services include, but are not limited to: Conducting structured therapeutic group sessions focused on addressing behavioral health issues, emotional regulation, and social skills development among youth in a day treatment program. Creating a safe and therapeutic environment within the day treatment program, fostering a sense of community and trust among participants. Interacting with clients and their families to keep track of their progress and to ensure satisfaction. Regularly assessing and documenting participants' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and communicating updates to the treatment team. Record case information, Accurately complete all necessary forms and paperwork while adhering to agency standards, Assess and address motivational and psychosocial issues, Facilitate multiple care aspects including case coordination and information sharing, Create service plans and assist in case closures. The QMHS provides services at times and locations when they are most needed, allowing for highly individualized and effective intervention.
