The Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) will provide coverage in short-term, surge and on demand situations resulting from the Military needs such as a post-deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. The Summer ARC counselor position covers assignments during the May 15th through September 15th time period, coinciding with the school summer break. With minimal guidance and oversight, provides the full breadth of Adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. These services may include non- medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child daycare centers and schools, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting military personnel and their family members. ARC CYB counselors may be assigned to DoDEA schools and community schools and will need to have experience working in a school setting to qualify for ARC role in backing up a school position. CYB counselors may also be assigned to youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. ARC adult counselors may be assigned to support MFLC services in a variety of military community and readiness centers, as well as on-demand and surge assignments. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in promoting sports in the school and community. * Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program. * Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices. * Assist the head coach in teaching individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game. * Assist the head coach in teaching good sportsmanship and self-control. * Assist in checking eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent. * Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance. * Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes. * Assist in the recommendation of the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes. * Demonstrates loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of Oldham County Schools. * Performs other related duties as may be assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment will be on an as needed basis as determined by the Superintendent and will be subject to review for continuation on an annual basis. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel. Counselor- PRN | Sobriety Centers of New Hampshire | Antrim, New Hampshire About the Job: The Counselor I provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients. Roles and Responsibilities: * Participates in client treatment planning and continuum of care. * Conducts group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required. * Co-facilitates assigned group or family sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors. * Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments for clients. * Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned client. * Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner. * Acts as a liaison between referral sources and clients. * Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed. * Plans for aftercare for assigned clients. * Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested. * Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care. * Evaluates the need of the client and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed. * Provides client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems. * Conducts educational workshops both within the Facility and in the community as required. * Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals. * Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the Facility treatment programs. * Bachelor's degree in social or health services field required. * Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process required. * Licensure or certification for counseling, as required by the state in which the facility operates; OR state license or certification eligible within the timeframe designated by the facility. * CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). * First aid may be required based on state or facility Why Sobriety Centers of New Hampshire?Sobriety Centers of New Hampshire offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
