DUAL DIAGNOSIS COUNSELOR
The Dual Diagnosis Counselor is responsible for providing direct therapeutic services, group and individual, to dually diagnosed, justice involved individuals needing mental health competency restoration supports. It is essential to have thorough knowledge of substance use and mental health disorders, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related evidenced based assessment tools and treatment. This role requires good judgement and flexibility in responding to crisis to follow up with supportive services to participants, provide focus and directed oversight, communication, and coordination. This is a 24/7 program and may require night and weekend coverage for the safety and well-being of all clients residing in the facility. Shifts may change to meet the requirements of daily operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively with the client to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses priority needs of the client, an agreed upon plan of action, and desired treatment outcomes.
Utilizes approved curriculum tofacilitateweekly groups and/or provides individual treatment to residents.
Conducts group and individual therapeutic interventions.
Evaluates and reports progress and outcome of treatment services.
Accurately completes clinical intakes, reports, assessments, service plans, clinical notes, and discharge summaries.
Administersfollow-up assessments.
Providescrisis intervention and de-escalation.
Possesses knowledge of DSV V diagnostic criteria and makes accurate diagnoses.
Incorporates the use ofevidence-based practices and motivational interviewing skills.
Collaborates with other service providers and resources throughout the community to ensure clients receive comprehensive services.
Participates in case conferences and team meetings to ensure effective integrated service delivery.
Maintains accurateand up-to-date client records and documentation.
Promotes and demonstrates the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Embrave.
Develops and maintainsgood working relationships with all departments, the management team, regulatory agencies, and community partners.

EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) in good standing with Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).

Job Summary
The Master Counselor demonstrates above-standard clinical knowledge and performance, leading to enhanced care and improved quality outcomes. This position meets or exceeds expectations in providing clinical services to individuals and families and actively collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to address clients' clinical needs. The role includes professional interpretation and analysis of clinical data to formulate service plans and treatment summaries. As a subject matter expert on clinical practices and Diversus Health protocols, the Master Counselor supports staff and helps navigate client treatment needs through internal and external referrals. This role promotes positive and professional interactions with both internal and external stakeholders and may involve family/caregiver participation in treatment planning when appropriate.
Essential Functions
Provide care, treatment, and services tailored to the behavioral health needs of the served population.
Demonstrate understanding of individual client needs, behaviors, and symptoms associated with common mental health disorders.
Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold professional standards.
Accurately complete all clinical documentation within required timeframes (e.g., progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries).
Consistently meet established productivity goals.
Maintain a client caseload and provide temporary coverage for vacant clinical positions as needed.
Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical expertise, evidence-based practices (EBP), specialty areas, and Diversus Health systems.
Attend ongoing training and participate in peer consultations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field (MA, MS, MSW, MFT) required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver and document clinical services.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree

- Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining existing Java programs.
