Vantor is seeking a Geospatial Developer to help with design, development, and maintenance of a centralized ArcGIS web portal that serves as the primary geospatial data repository for our government customer. This project supports a hard and deeply buried target mission set, providing critical analytic insights to government stakeholders. Success depends on the development of accurate, scalable, and mission-tailored software solutions that enable timely and informed decision-making. The work directly impacts national security objectives by transforming complex data into actionable intelligence in a highly specialized and sensitive domain. Responsibilities: Position is full time onsite in Reston, VA. Develop, maintain, and enhance a custom ArcGIS web portal using ESRI tools and APIs. Design and implement geospatial data pipelines and integration workflows. Manage, store, and optimize large geospatial datasets in both relational and spatial databases. Ensure high availability and performance of geospatial services hosted in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure). Develop automation scripts for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution. Collaborate with data engineers, GIS analysts, and software developers to align portal functionality with project needs. Monitor and troubleshoot backend services (e.g., ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store). Ensure security, version control, and user access management across the portal. Document system architecture, data schemas, and integration processes. Minimum Qualifications: Current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to obtain CI polygraph. 10years of experience in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, or a related technical field. 2+ years of experience working with the ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, Data Store). Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript (ArcGIS API for JavaScript). Experience developing and deploying web-based GIS applications. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise services. Understanding of spatial data types (vector, raster) and coordinate systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (e.g., S3, EC2, Azure Blob, etc.). Ability to build and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes. Experience with Git and version control systems. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. 4+ years of professional GIS and software development experience. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration tools in a geospatial context. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or similar spatial databases. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform). Familiarity with ArcPy and geoprocessing services. Understanding of OGC standards (WMS, WFS, GeoJSON, etc.). Knowledge of data governance, metadata standards, and geospatial data quality assurance. Experience working in Agile development teams or DevOps environments.
