* Litigation Counsel who will provide litigation support for both existing and new legal issues facing Syensqo. The position will be part of the Syensqo Group's global General Counsel Function and will report to Syensqo's North American Chief Litigation and Employment Counsel.
* The attorney will largely focus on managing legacy asbestos liabilities and handling employee claims, as well as assist with general commercial and environmental litigation matters. The position will work closely with our Senior Litigation and Regulatory Counsel and collaborate with colleagues in other functions such as Human Resources and Insurance and Risk Management and will enjoy the support of our Senior Litigation Paralegal.
We count on you for:
* Manage docket of asbestos matters, including managing outside counsel across the country, interfacing with insurance company claims managers, and leading a multidisciplinary committee that includes members from Legal, Finance and Insurance/Risk Management;
* Manage smaller employee claims, including responses to agency charges and selecting and managing outside counsel where appropriate;
* Conduct factual investigation into new and pending claims, liaise with business colleagues to obtain responsive information, manage document collections and reviews with help from Senior Litigation Paralegal; review and revise discovery responses;
* Advise and assist in managing Legal Holds, document/data retention and collections to support discovery in multiple litigations across US;
* Review and respond to third party subpoenas;
* Assist with environmental and general commercial litigation matters, such as tort claims, contract disputes, and personal injury claims;
You will bring:
Education:
* JD degree from an accredited U.S. law school
* Candidates must have excellent academic credentials. An employment or academic background in environmental or chemical sciences or engineering is desirable but not required.
Experience:
* Approximately 5 to 7 years of relevant experience working in a law firm and/or corporate law department and should have a strong working knowledge of complex and mass tort litigation (federal and state, with defense experience).
* Experience handling employment claims and environmental matters is a plus.

Session topics at the elementary level may include enhancing self-awareness, supporting new students, academic motivation and achievement, behavior, social skills, conflict resolution, and family issues. Inform administration regarding matters essential to student safety and well-being.
Provide Responsive Services: Address the immediate needs of particular students with concerns using short-term counseling strategies, consultation, or referral to a licensed clinical professional for the purposes of prevention or student intervention. Consult and/or check in with parents and/or teachers regarding student needs per request of administration or teachers themselves.
Participates in team meetings and student problem solving: At the request of the principal, the counselor should participate in conferences with parents, Student Improvement Team Meetings, collect and share student data, participate in intervention implementation and data collection.
Upon principal approval, act as a liaison between the school and other outside agencies: The counselor is the conduit between the school and community agencies such as counselors, therapeutic settings, foster care, juvenile justice, mental health providers, etc. Relevant information and paper work is gathered, organized and shared with appropriate parties to support the student in the school environment. For students in need, on-going communication is facilitated by the school counselor.
Collects and reports data: The counselor records his or her time distribution and activities and reports to the principal and the clinical supervisor on a routine basis. Records should include the number of school wide, classroom, small group and individual sessions, and parent, teacher, and administrator consultations and other non-counseling jobs as assigned.
Prioritizes on-going professional learning and growth: The counselor will participate in monthly group and individual meetings with supervisor. In addition, the school counseling consultant will meet his/her licensure requirements to maintain a current professional license.
Serve as a member of the Crisis Response Team in the event of an emergency or tragedy as requested by supervisor.
