Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. The Center for Human Services (CHS) located in Stratford, Connecticut is a CARF accredited, Department of Public Health licensed, medication-assisted treatment program for opiate addicted persons utilizing prescribed methadone or buprenorphine/suboxone, and supportive counseling in conjunction with other support and referral services. The persons served attend individual counseling to address drug use/abuse, personal/family, employment, health, and legal issues. Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center is seeking a Full-Time Bachelors Level milieu counselor (bilingual Spanish/English preferred) for their Prospects Extended Day Treatment (EDT) Program. Staff working in the EDT Program will receive training and certification in the following therapeutic models which are used regularly and are trained both off-site and on-site. These include: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Therapeutic Drama, Project Joy, Medication Administration and Risking Connection. The Milieu Counselor co-facilitates children's therapy groups, works 1:1 with children ages 5-12, supervises children who are transported to and from program, and collaborates with parents, families and schools. This position is ideal for individuals looking to learn more about the mental health/social services field or those who are seeking to work and gain experience while they are in school.
