General Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide individual, group, and family counseling services in accordance with Iowa licensure standards and program requirements
Complete biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within required timeframes
Utilize ASAM Criteria and Stages of Change to support individualized treatment planning
Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups aligned with program curriculum
Collaborate with medical, nursing, case management, and recovery support staff to ensure coordinated care
Monitor client progress, address barriers to treatment, and support relapse prevention planning
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Uphold ethical standards, professional boundaries, and confidentiality requirements (including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2)
Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision, and required trainings
Respond appropriately to crisis situations and follow established safety protocols
Qualifications
Required:
Active Iowa CADAC certification in good standing
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing substance use disorder counseling (residential or outpatient preferred)
Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, evidence-based treatment models, and documentation standards
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
Experience in residential or detox treatment settings
Co-occurring disorder experience
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing
