    Job Summary/Basic Function: Provides support to current CAMP students as the instructor for two CAMP classes (one fall and one spring semester) and coordinates the career counseling services for current and former CAMP students. This position also provides follow-up support to CAMP students after they complete their first year of college through graduation. This position is an 11-month appointment. This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship. This position is not eligible for a hybrid/remote work schedule. Department Overview: The CAMP Scholars Program assists students who are seasonal farmworkers (or children of such workers) enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies at Boise State University. The program supports completion of the first year of studies. Services include counseling, tutoring, skills workshops, financial aid stipends, health services, and other supportive assistance to eligible students during their first year of college. Level Scope: Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute to a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision-making. This level is typically focused on self-development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training. Essential Functions: ● Plan, design, and teach the fall semester University Success and spring semester Career Development courses for CAMP students. Coordinate the academic study sessions and CAMP lab services with the academic tutors and CAMP lab staff. ● Monitor the academic progress of former students. Refer former students to services necessary for their success as appropriate. Refer former students as appropriate when the student requires other services, such as professional counseling. ● Assist current and former students with career planning and placement. Assist students in identifying and cultivating mentoring relationships. ● Track progress of current and former students relative to career services and progress toward degree.
