PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time counselors are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which counselors will be retained for future and continued counseling assignments. And in some instances, evaluations, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
COMPENSATION
The temporary Counselor classification salary range is $7,830 to $14,109 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $8,104 per month

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides support for students facing personal challenges and mental health concerns. Services offered at CAPS include short-term individual counseling, group counseling, case management and referral, psychoeducational workshops, and crisis intervention. The CAPS team is comprised of mental health professionals including psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists who specialize in working with a diverse college student population. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation of client services

Assist with client crises as needed (life skills, conflicts resolution, safety planning, etc.) using trauma-informed de-escalation and mediation techniques.
