The Quantitative Development group, within Milliman's Financial Risk Management Practice ("FRM"), focuses on capital markets modeling, market‑consistent valuation of assets and liabilities, quantitative risk analytics, and simulation analysis of risk management strategies. Systems developed by this group support trading functions within active hedge programs, and serve as calculation engines for stochastic‑on‑stochastic financial projections of hedge strategy performance.
The Role
Quantitative developersin FRM develop capital markets models and implement them as modules in appropriate languages (C++, C#, Python, Excel VBA). Responsibilities

The salary range for this role is $90,620 - $145,130, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
Location
Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in‑person in the Milliman office in Chicago, IL on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered.

Perform MTO Review: review and edit MTOs and advise assigned institutions as needed on questions relating to MTOs, such as MTO terms acceptable to HHMI.
Perform IIA and License Review: provide timely comments to assigned research institutions on IIAs, options, and licenses, consistent with HHMI policies.
Consult and coordinate with others in OGC and at HHMI, including Senior Director‑Scientific Officers and Senior Director‑Scientific Program Officers, as appropriate, on MTA, MTO, and license issues.
Update and maintain electronic databases associated with MTAs, MTOs, and licenses in a timely manner.
Assist the MTLR group and other OGC staff in suggesting, evaluating, documenting, and implementing improvements to HHMI procedures and practices for handling MTAs, MTOs, and licenses.
Maintain a current knowledge of legal issues and current practices in the scientific community relevant to MTAs, MTOs, and licenses, including through participation in continuing legal education and membership in appropriate bar and professional associations. What you bring
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Guide trainees in building their employment preparation, adult education, and soft skills by facilitating workshops, leading activities, and providing one-on-one coaching.
Assist in helping trainees to learn new skills and prepare for certifications by providing tutoring.
Collaborate with other team members to develop curricula and syllabi, grade assignments, formulate individual work plans for trainees, and make suggestions for improvements, as appropriate.
Provide individualized coaching to career seekers to address situations that are barriers to employment.
Make calls to absent trainees daily, conduct home visits as needed.
Participate in weekly collaborative case management meetings (Unit Team) with team members, action teams, monthly staff meetings, progress/coaching meetings with trainees, as well as other agency meetings, as assigned.
Manage attendance roster and facilitate daily communication with absent trainees.
Maintain and build relationships with community organizations and case workers.
Develop content and facilitate workshops on a weekly basis, implement applied learning opportunities within the curriculum.
Actively participate in community events and build awareness of CET within the community.
Track data, perform data entry, update numerous databases and outcome tracking spreadsheets, and report trainee progress to other programs, as applicable.

Key Accountabilities
Takes a leading role to advise Company's People Team on various labor and employment topics, including employment handbooks, policies and procedures, background screening, team member relations, performance management, workforce reductions and terminations, internal investigations, leaves of absence and disability accommodations, compensation and benefits, discrimination, and harassment and retaliation.

Manage outside counsel on employment litigation matters.
Coordinate and work on various legal projects as determined by senior legal leadership.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Five + years' experience practicing law full-time working in a legal department of a medium or large financial institution, or with a major law firm.
Admitted to practice, and in good standing with the bar of one of the states in our footprint, with preference given to Illinois, Indiana or Minnesota, or qualified to be registered to practice as in-house counsel in the applicable state.
Ability to apply sound legal analysis and practical business judgment to legal matters.

Secure necessary documentation from patients, when appropriate, to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Submit monthly and quarterly statistical reports to supervisor.
Attend supervisions as scheduled
Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
