Summary
HHMI is seeking a Contracts Counsel for its Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to help support HHMI's programs and operations by providing informed, practical, creative, and timely legal counsel in the review and negotiation of research‑related agreements. As a member of the dynamic team in HHMI's OGC, you will be directly involved in HHMI's mission of advancing biomedical research for the benefit of humanity.
The person in this role will review and negotiate contracts relating to the conduct of research in HHMI laboratories. These contracts include agreements covering the transfer of reagents and other materials into and from HHMI laboratories (inbound and outgoing Materials Transfer Agreements or MTAs and MTOs). In addition, the Contracts Counsel ensures that inter‑institutional agreements (IIAs) and licenses entered into by third‑party research institutions that relate to technology developed in HHMI laboratories are consistent with HHMI's policies and interests. The Contracts Counsel will work closely with other OGC staff, HHMI scientific management, HHMI laboratory heads and staff, and research institution staff to efficiently resolve issues relating to MTAs, MTOs, IIAs, and licenses.
This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and works under the general supervision of the Deputy General Counsel and one Senior Contracts Counsel. We will consider either remote or hybrid working arrangements, given the candidate's preference.

What you will do

Work collaboratively in the MTLR group to resolve legal and practical issues arising in MTA negotiation and processing.
Perform MTO Review: review and edit MTOs and advise assigned institutions as needed on questions relating to MTOs, such as MTO terms acceptable to HHMI.
Perform IIA and License Review: provide timely comments to assigned research institutions on IIAs, options, and licenses, consistent with HHMI policies.
Consult and coordinate with others in OGC and at HHMI, including Senior Director‑Scientific Officers and Senior Director‑Scientific Program Officers, as appropriate, on MTA, MTO, and license issues.
Update and maintain electronic databases associated with MTAs, MTOs, and licenses in a timely manner.
Assist the MTLR group and other OGC staff in suggesting, evaluating, documenting, and implementing improvements to HHMI procedures and practices for handling MTAs, MTOs, and licenses.
Maintain a current knowledge of legal issues and current practices in the scientific community relevant to MTAs, MTOs, and licenses, including through participation in continuing legal education and membership in appropriate bar and professional associations. As opportunities arise, support efforts of HHMI laboratories and the broader scientific community to promote the availability of reagents and other research materials.
What you bring
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Active membership in good standing with an established bar required.
A minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in private practice or in a corporate, nonprofit, or government legal department.
At least two years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts relating to life sciences research and/or intellectual property is a plus.

The Role
The Manager, Coach Development plays a key implementation and relationship-building role in advancing USTA New England's coaching education and recruitment strategy. This position brings USTA Coaching framework to life across the Section by coordinating workshops, recruiting and retaining grassroots coaches, and fostering a connected, diverse community of teaching professionals. The Manager will oversee logistics, partnerships, and communications to ensure high-quality coach learning experiences, while actively engaging providers, facilities, and community organizations to grow the coaching workforce. This role is both hands-on and outward-facing, requiring a balance of project coordination, event management, and relationship cultivation.
Actively manage recruiting new grassroots coaches, strengthening relationships with partners, and cultivating long-term engagement across the Section.
Lead grassroots coach recruitment initiatives to grow and diversify the regional coaching pipeline.
Refine and execute a coach recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Director of Competition and Coach Development and other Departments.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with CTAs, NJTLs, Parks & Recreation departments, schools, and key industry partners such as PTR, RSPA, PCA, and PTM programs.
Integrate recruitment needs across Section programs like Tennis in the Parks and Junior Team Tennis into a unified coach recruitment plan.
Collaborate with the Social Impact and Opportunity team to enhance the recruitment and retention of BIPOC, female, and adaptive coaches.
Evaluate and strengthen recognition and retention efforts, ensuring coaches feel valued and connected through consistent engagement, spotlighting, and professional development opportunities.
Act as a connector and advocate for coaches, helping them identify next steps, training options, and pathways for advancement within the USTA system.
Coordinate, facilitate, and promote Section-led workshops and training sessions that bring section & national curriculum and philosophy to life, creating accessible, high-quality learning experiences for all levels of coaches.
Plan, schedule, and manage logistics for USTA Coaching workshops from the national catalog.
Maintain a comprehensive annual education calendar, balancing in-person and virtual training opportunities to serve different levels and regions.
Recruit and support a regional network of Coach Developers in partnership with USTA National to expand training capacity and maintain quality standards.
Ensure the effective use of USTA digital tools, including the Coaching Hub and LMS platforms, to broaden access to learning.
Collaborate with USTA National to localize educational offerings for women, adaptive, and diverse coaching populations.
Evaluate the impact of workshops through participant feedback, attendance tracking, and performance metrics.
Foster collaboration with national, regional, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment, resource sharing, and consistent implementation:
Serve as a liaison to the USTA National Coaching team, ensuring consistent communication, alignment, and implementation of shared priorities.
Collaborate with facilities, CTAs, schools, and community organizations to embed coach education into grassroots tennis growth.
Work closely with Section departments, including Community Tennis, Competition, Exec/Admin, Social Impact & Opportunity, and Marketing, to ensure coaching efforts are integrated and mutually reinforcing.
Participate in cross-Section collaborations to share best practices and elevate the collective standard for coaching excellence.
Identify new partnership opportunities with academic institutions, industry organizations, and facility leaders to create sustainable talent pipelines.
Cultivate a sense of belonging and provide ongoing resources and opportunities that support coaches:
Collaborate with Marketing to develop and maintain a communication cadence (newsletters, updates, and spotlights) that keeps coaches informed and inspired.
Facilitate mentorship opportunities and peer-to-peer cohorts that help coaches share best practices and build support networks.
Amplify the SafePlay process for all coaches and follow applicable policies and procedures regarding Safe Play compliance.
Collaborate with Marketing to promote coach stories, highlight successes, and drive engagement with the broader tennis community.
Provide responsive, high-quality customer service to all coaching partners, emphasizing professionalism, care, and inclusivity.
Track and analyze coaching metrics to inform strategic decisions and demonstrate the value of the Section's work in advancing coach education and engagement.
Track participation, workshop completion, and recruitment outcomes, maintaining accurate and accessible data systems.
Prepare periodic reports for Section leadership to reflect progress against key metrics and performance indicators.
Gather coach feedback and insights to assess impact and identify emerging needs or opportunities for improvement.
Provide insight and coordinate budget requests in alignment with the supervisor. Aid in the annual development process.
Attend meetings and events as required.
Serve as staff liaison to the assigned committees and project teams as required by the supervisor.
This position requires frequent work on weekends and evenings, especially from March through July, and occasional night and weekend work throughout the remainder of the year.
Travel is required throughout the six New England states
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, often using a computer.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $58,000 - $65,100.

The mission of the Department of Revenue's Child Support Services Division is to enhance the well-being of children by partnering with parents and caregivers to meet the financial needs of the family. Effective child support services are an essential part of the larger effort by the Commonwealth and the federal government to promote families' economic self-sufficiency.
DOR/CSE's core functions are to establish parentage, and establish, enforce and modify child support and health insurance orders. Much of our success depends on collaborations with a wide variety of state agencies and private entities.
The Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Child Support Services Division seeks an attorney for a Counsel I position for the Litigation team in its Northern Region office located in Woburn.
DOR/CSS utilizes a hybrid work model where employees work both in-office and remotely, depending on operational needs. Candidates must ensure they have the appropriate work environment for telework, including but not limited to, connectivity, and resource access to conduct their job duties while remote. Candidates must be able to supervise and be supervised remotely and must be able to work effectively in an isolated setting. Candidates must be organized, highly disciplined, conscientious, motivated, and committed to utilizing identified tools for successfully performing in a remote setting. Candidates must be available to travel to their officially designated work location with as little notice as the same workday should an exigent circumstance arise.
Duties:
· Assess, draft, and file/efile legal pleadings in various divisions of the Probate and Family Court Department.
· Manage a high-volume litigation caseload to support the financial needs of the family and to ensure compliance with statutory and procedural requirements, state and federal timelines for health insurance, and agency policies and procedures.
· Prepare for virtual case conferencing sessions and/or virtual court hearings\: including conferring with regional staff to obtain necessary case information and documents; perform necessary legal research and analysis; prepare case summaries; and organize case information.
· Appear at virtual case conferencing sessions and/or virtual court hearings to establish legal paternity; establish, modify and enforce orders for child support and health insurance; and address customer issues.
· Review case inventory on a regular and consistent basis to control inventory and minimize backlogs; and refer cases to appropriate regional staff when legal action is not pursuable.
· Report to supervisor concerning backlogs, including identifying problem cases, proposed solutions; and developing strategies to eliminate backlogs.
· Update CSS's case management system (COMETS HD) and other case tracking systems with actions taken.
· Advocate DOR's interests in a legally sound manner by correctly interpreting and applying state and federal laws, statutes and regulations regarding child support services, and agency policies.
· Determine the best means to inform customers concerning what actions the agency will or will not take on their cases, risks (including physical or emotional risks related to domestic violence/family safety), time frames, and what actions the customer needs to take to cooperate with the agency.
· Identify means to resolve disputes between customers and the agency.
· Serve as in house CSS counsel by responding to inquiries from internal and external CSS customers, including, but not limited to, providing legal case consultation to CSS managers and staff; informing judges, private counsel, and other customers of DOR policy and procedures; and delivering quality legal services to CSS litigants.

Responsibilities:
Support and provide attorney-level input on targeted legal technology adoption initiatives impacting the firm's practice groups
Design and prepare meaningful playbooks to help practice groups understand and implement best practices around the use of innovation technologies and processes
Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings
Collaborate closely with leadership in the innovation, firm operations, technology and practice groups in the request/initiative prioritization process, both in sharing insight gleaned from work with the practice groups and in evangelizing the existence and value of the prioritization process to the practice groups
Collaborative closely with other innovation teams to develop objectives, success metrics, and timelines related to legal technology adoption initiatives in the practice groups
Collaborate closely with practice management teams, legal project management and pricing teams to understand and analyze current practice group operational workflows, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to increase effectiveness and efficiency leveraging legal technologies
Work with other innovation teams to drive legal technology pilots, deployments, proofs of concept, experiments, and continuous improvements within the firm's practice groups
Work closely with the change management team to help them develop effective communication campaigns for practice groups and develop meaningful change measurement processes
Develop and maintain practice group-specific resources, and work with Practice Engineering and other firm departments to automate and/or scale such efforts
