The purpose of the Community Residence and the Single-Site Apartment Programs is to enhance options of participants for choosing, accessing, and maintaining preferred permanent housing, and to provide the support needed to maximize the recipient's successful integration into independent community living. The program relies on the participants to play an active role in both identifying their housing needs, and in actively pursuing the skills needed to succeed in this housing choice. The provision of the listed support services will allow participants to not only obtain permanent housing, but to remain in it by gaining skills needed to succeed in independent living. As requirements for each program is related to the level of need and assistance that participants require, staff will learn program regulations and provide services accordingly. The goal of both programs is to assist individuals in reaching the highest level of independence in the community that is possible for each person.
